most overrated vols

Jabari Davis, Brian Darden, Gerald Riggs, Chris Donald, Daniel Brooks, and CJ Leak come to mind.

Would Ronnie Pillow count as being overrated.I think he played tailback or fullback in the mid 90's.

Ronnie Pillow was a beast in high school. Played at Columbia Central. Still wasn't as good as our (Franklin high) RB, Fred Lane but Fred didn't have the grades to go to a D1 school.
Brian Darden was so over hyped and such a huge disappointment.

Daniel Brooks, Jabari Davis, Brandon Warren, Chris Donald, Crompton, Locke, Sykes, Vlad Richards, Riggs, K. Washington jus to name a few.........

Good call on Eric Locke. Juicy is probably still hyping him up somewhere.

This line of thinking always confounds me. By this logic wouldn't basically every player at every position on the '98 team be at least one of the best in UT history? So Trent Dilfer was the best QB in the league in 2000 since "he" led the Ravens to a SB victory? Whether your intent or not that's the argument you're presenting.

Remember, it's entirely possible that the best player to ever play in any team sport might never so much as sniff a championship if the team around him isn't good enough.

This is no dig at Tee but that he won a NC or beat FL doesn't, nor shouldn't, square with the what the rest of the team, defense in particular, accomplished. In fact, a look at Tee's stats vs FL would not bode well for your point of view.

I cannot believe someone said Marcus Nash was overrated. You are nucking futs, man.

No, Joey Kent was great, Nash was the underachieving #2. Then when Kent left Nash forgot how to catch all together. Made Peyton have more incompletions than he ever shouldve his senior year

For me it's Michael Munoz

I know I might get roasted for this thread but who cares

He was a first team AA and a 4 year starter thats overrated nowadays? Plus you don't really hear much about the lineman except Chad Clifton. If I was gonna say overrated I would say somebody like Arian Foster he had a decent year filling in his freshman year and a great rookie year, but other than that idk. I know he was only a few yards away from breaking Travis Henry's record, but he basically played all 4 years most of our backs get two maybe three years.

Munoz was a joke plain and simple. He held more than any OL in UT history and he even went on record saying i'll hold before he gets to our qb...well thats not that great that costs us yardage and first downs...if he couldve blocked thered be no need to hold 8 times a game. Typical excuse for his own innability to block. Everyone knows Munoz was over hyped because his dad was a hall of fame OL in the NFL.

Yes, being an AA when the best people at judging talent (NFL scouts) think you aren't worth even a 7th round pick means you're overrated.

In the 2000 Athlon sports preseason magazine they made their predictions for thre NFL all-decade team and he was on the list. Hadn't played even a single down of cfb yet and they had him on the freaking NFL all-decade team. So yeah he was a little overrated.
