More NFL Draft buzz for Josh Dobbs

You tell me which QB's in the SEC where the first concern when facing them or their team is the pass and I'll hang up and listen.

Will Grier was/is the only QB I can think of in the SEC where the offense rides on how well he throws the football first and foremost.

Add to that the fact he was a freshman, has no offensive line (and therefore no running game), and who's best weapon is a true freshman....and I don't think it's homerish or crazy.

The four guys listed.....Dobbs and Prescott are more feared for their legs than their arm. Allen is a senior and plays on a team where the first priority is stopping the run. That makes the passing game a hell of a lot easier not being the primary focus of the defense. And I really don't think Chad Kelly is all that good.

So, yeah, if you asked me to pick a QB in the SEC to build my team around based on what I saw this season and it needed to be an NFL style, pocket passing QB.....give me Will Grier.

You make so much sense that it makes me sad that you are a Gator fan.....

Why would you not pick Treon Harris over your freshman Lou Ferrigno?

LSU beat you all by a touchdown and had to fake a field goal at that.

Josh Dobbs will never play a down in the NFL. 2 reasons:
1. First and foremost, he has real smarts that is going to translate into a very high paying job that will not cause him to wake up every day for the rest of his life grabbing handfuls of pain pills.
2. he can't throw the ball accurately at any distance.

Dobbs isn't nearly as good as Dobbs 4 Heisman makes him out to be or nearly as bad as Volfanbill makes him out to be. He's in the middle of what those two think he is.

He's a decent SEC QB. He's similar, in overall ability, to what Erik Ainge was. Good QB, not great(though they're good for different reasons), and is good enough to be our QB until something better arrives/is ready after his graduation.

You literally just put him on the level I put him on.

Well that's certainly not what you act like. Anyone reading your posts would determine you think Dobbs is ****ty. So either we have completely different definitions of "Decent SEC QB" or different ideas of how good Ainge was.

Or you can't read. I bragged about his arm strength, toughness, speed, run ability and how hard he is to tackle in open space. I've repeatedly said being a 4-5th round draft pick isn't all that special. But since that kind of status means he's better than Tusculum's or Carson Newman's qb, obviously he's a superstar on Peyton's level.

I wouldn't be insulting anyone about their posts when its pretty obvious at this point that you have know idea to post like an adult. Maybe if you could post like a grown up, people would take you more seriously. I'm not sure if you think it's funny or clever but I'll help you out. It's not. It does nothing but make you look immature. If you want to discuss Dobbs' attributes, great. Leave the immature, sarcastic, silliness out of it.

Yea. You nailed it. Can't defend against an argument so you resort to belittling. Bravo sir

All I can say is, there is a MASSIVE HUGE difference between book smart and then football smart. They are two different things. Josh is really good, but NFL is a whole nother level.

I've already been at this table, friend. In multiple threads. Doing your homework is hard.

Obviously. You can't even talk about the conversation at hand. And don't call me friend, like you're not acting like an even bigger douche than you're making me out to be.

I don't have to make you out to be anything, you took care of that yourself.

I would too, more mature, fewer mistakes, not much difference in arm talent.

This statement shows me you rarely watch games and have your nose stuck in nothing but box scores. Chad Kelly has arguably the strongest arm in the conference while Brandon Allen is arguably one of the weakest. This one isn't even close. I don't like Kelly but his arm talent is worlds better than Allen.

I'm gonna enjoy upping this thread in one years time when Dobbs is near the top of the QB draft boards.

We'll see who has the last laugh.

Now he's going to tell you that "you can't read"..."are clueless"..."don't have as many degrees as I do"...:boredom:

Edit: too late. :)

Maybe he's watching games on the OUTSIDE of Dobbs butt? :)

Punters get drafted.

Being a 7th rounder that doesn't play doesn't cut it.

That's my point. Not saying he won't be drafted. Just saying he'll never start or make a difference in the NFL.

While I agree that Dobbs needs to improve immensely to ever be an NFL QB, I've also seen way too many really average players start at that position to say it won't ever happen.

Again, very little difference in arm talent. Both can make all the throws, Allen is very accurate. A baseball analogy would be that Kelly throws 94 where Allen throws 91...both throw strikes...Allen gives up fewer walks, makes fewer bad pitches in the strike zone. Allen has a much better rating, has a much betrr yards per attempt and has a much better TD to int ratio....while missing his top 3 WRs going into the season.

You're young, you're trying hard, but you're a bit clueless and it shows when you constantly give your all or nothing type statements. To watch those 2 throw the ball and post on here that it's "not even close" shows your naievete. Hang in there, keep trying and one day you might actually be seen as credible on here......maybe.
