So he's a likely third day draft pick. Well awesome

Yep that is awesome to be among the 1.6 percent of college football players to be drafted..you're not very smart are you?

NFL- only 1.6 percent of college football players make it to the pros. And as more underclassmen declare, fewer are being drafted.

What I've seen in NFL QB's this year, especially the quality of backups or lack thereof, makes you wonder if there is a conspiracy to keep Tebow out of the NFL. There is no way Tebow cannot legitimately out perform 50% or better of all backups and probably a few starters. Not being a homer, but seriously. The crap some teams retain as QB's and Tebow cant get a job.

LOL.

If Tebow were good enough, he'd be on an NFL roster. Period. There is no conspiracy. The guy has been with 4 NFL teams now and not one has stuck with him.

Does every team need to cut him before this kind of silly talk is over? He's simply not good enough to be an NFL QB.

Yea. Touting him above D3, NAIA, FCS, non power 5 qbs, man I was wrong. Who cares that Dobbs can't do anything past his primary receiver or run. He's better than Tusculum's qb and Justin Worley. All Hail prince Dobbs!

You do realize if he's number 5 that there's only 4 QBS ahead of him in all of college football, including power 5, which you conveniently left out of your post. It's okay to say Dobbs has some issues to work out, but you're just hating.

All things equal right now, Dobbs is my least favorite quarterback since I've been following Tennessee, which would be since Kelly. That said, his arm strength is at least average. Comparing strength to Shuler and Bray is putting him in an an upper level echelon. That's not really fair imo. There's too many other knocks on Dobbs as a qb.

D4H said Dobbs arm strength was as strong as they come...I only pointed out 2 recent UT QB's with much stronger arms as D4H's Dobbs worship has grown old.

Your Dobbs hate is old also...no reasonable fan can think he is worse than Crompton prior to Kiffen, drugged up Ainge (sober Ainge was good), the other Clausen, Sims, and Bray for his total lack of leadership.

I'm not inferring Dobbs has a weak arm, only that it wouldn't be considered overly stout like others. Bree's and Manning don't have cannons yet they've both been pretty successful.

I like Dobbs a lot myself but I'm not blind to his weaknesses and it shouldn't be overlooked that he's only started for about 1 season. I expect him to continue to improve and play well next season. Crying shame he didn't get a red shirt.

Dobbs routinely gets to his second or third read. Stop talking out of your ass and give the kid some credit.

That's not what that means.

hate to say it but I think some of this fanbase wants to go back to the type of QBs we always had before Condredge

I have been troubled by this as well. It seems like Dobbs get more love from other fanbases than his own.

Its sad that any positive mention of Dobbs is met with hate from his own fanbase.

I don't get it either..I'm proud that he chose to come here..he is going to be successful whether in the NFL or the private world..I wouldn't trade him for any other QB in the SEC

I really like Dobbs and are very happy we have him. Without him this season, I think we would likely have 1 win. A couple of things:

1. The comparison to Mariota is unjust and unfair.

2. His accuracy needs to improve. Although I wonder how good his accuracy would be with a good OL, a healthy WR corps and less drops.

3. I see some have questioned arm strength. While he is not a very strong armed QB, it needs to be said that neither was Peyton Manning. Now I realize Dobbs is not in Peyton's league in almost every passing aspect. But when it comes to pure arm strength, Dobbs probably has the stronger arm.

4. My brother and I have discussed somethng about Dobbs and I wonder if it is relevant. We all know Dobbs's class schedule is brutal and I wonder if that works against him in developing his QB skills. Think about it. How many hours does he have to spend in the books to make those excellent grades? I would be willing to bet, he spends a lot of time studying. I wonder what kinds of classes guys like Mariota, Tebow, Winston, Brady, Manning, Elway and Montana took in college? Now, what if he were majoring in communications or another easier major that didnt require much study time? And he had much more time to hone his QB skills and study the game? I am not saying this IS the case, but its interesting.

5. Its possible that Dobbs could go the NFL, but there is also a good chance he decides to be an engineer. All I know is, I am glad he suits up as the Vols QB every Saturday and I really look forward to his senior year!

You can't really think this.

In all seriousness, who doesn't think Dobbs would excel in the NFL?

You have to have the measurables - and he does.

After that, the NFL is a bit stale to me; too clinical. It's far, far more cerebral than college.

Who doesn't believe Dobbs would excel in that environment?

In addition, who doesn't believe Dobbs has the character to have a 15 year career in the NFL? Take care of himself; change his game as the years tick by???

I think the only thing holding Dobbs back from NFL greatness is if he decides NASA / Boeing is his true destiny.

Theres 186 quarterbacks available in the 2017 draft? Serious question.

Also, the fifth qb selected last year went in the fourth round. Yea, whoo.

Also, want to go ahead and remove your foot from your mouth in the Worley garbage?

Tom Brady- 6th round pick

Mark Brunell- 5th round pick

Rich Gannon- 4th round pick

Brad Johnson- 9th round pick

Mark Rypien- 6th round pick

Joe Thiesman- 4th round pick

Bart Start- 17th round pick

Roger Staubach- 10th round pick

Being selected in the NFL draft, regardless of where, is a big deal.

Sorry the facts rustled your jimmies but can you please state again how being drafted in the 4th round is nothing to write home about?

I mean only 1.6% of college players make it to the NFL. So being part of that is no big deal? Wow.

there's a qb right now who has a meager 52.5% completion rating (149-275), 13 TDs, and just under 2,000 yards passing that is ahead of Dobbs in next year's draft. To put that in perspective, right now 44 qbs have more yards. All 44 of them have a higher completion percentage than said player.

To further break this down Dobbs is 9th in the SEC for QBR. 6th in passing yards, 5th in TDs. Yeah, Dobbs is a superstar.
