More Climate BS...

It kinda matters . We can Cuba or Venezuela if their would prefer our plan with the ability to change it or what they live in now without any voice whatsoever . I didn’t say our crazy azz spending was sustainable. I do know because I read history , that socialism is absolutely not because it lead to communism and dictatorships . Now back to my original statement.. boomers don’t support socialism .
if all roads last to failure then the one you chose is irrelevant

Boomers absolutely support socialist programs. I would bet all get a check from at least one every month

Socialism .. not socialistic safety net programs they they’ve paid into .

No food , no shelter , no water , no medical , no money , one elite ruling class . Dumb it down anyway you want . 🤷🏼‍♂️
I dumbed it down so far as I could to show how your statement was incorrect. They do dupport it but just hate to admit. No need to go to extremes

Socialism and social safety nets that have been paid into by the ones getting the checks , are not the same thing . Socialism is an extreme that always leads to failure , not maybe , not possibly , but always . That was my original point .

So you don't think this country already has socialist programs in place?

Can people receive more funds from these programs than they input?

Meh. Give the younger generations a slide rule and a ten pound hunk of iron representing 4k of RAM. When they get back from the Moon, call me.

It's a joke, younger folks, and truthfully, the road to the Moon was paved by the Greatest Generation.

One difference I think I see that has changed is that the younger generations have flipped from those that grew up in the 60s and 70s who had what I deem as a healthy suspicion of the Federal government to being ALL IN on anything coming out of Washington DC. But I really do not blame them as much as the rest of us not paying attention to what was going on in colleges and universities.

The education system in this country has bcome one massive re-education camp that any authoritarian government of the 20th Century would be proud of. I've talked to a few of our state legislators and they have recognized the mess, but as one told me, it is almost impossible to hire a professor who is not a libtard. They're unicorns.

So everyone has paid in and can only receive up to the amount put in?

"Safety net".....

It wasn't the boomer generation that moved social security into the unified budget, that was LBJ in 1969 and he was no boomer. It was actually the boomer generation that in 1990 moved social security "off budget" again in 1990.

Yes, the boomer generation made a lot of mistakes when they began to amass power but most of their mistakes were continuations of the greatest generation. Again it goes back to easy times make soft people and the fact we have been able to vote ourselves largeness since the passage of the 17th amendment.

Good reminder.

This gen vs gen stuff is stupid, and accomplishes nothing. Anyone really investing any time pointing out the splinter in another's eye before addressing the timber in their own needs to recalibrate. What the boomers, greatest, century turners, civil war gens did is now done. Show me any gen fixing what's been done.
Yall should be more pissed your gen has done nothing to fix the errors of previous gens.

The biggest mistake in our country's history was the new deal.

Correct, we just continue and pile on the mistakes of the previous generation. The only people regardless of generation interested in fixing our problems would never be elected because the fix would require sacrifice.

Inflation is always the killer ... any amount. Any increase in pay without a corresponding increase in work output is inflationary. Paying more for gas or another fuel because people bid up the price on speculative commodity markets is inflationary. What we paid in and what we get back in SS may differ, but that's based on inflation. Your generations are as much to blame for that as anybody because you expect increasing incomes and unrealistic returns on your retirement investments. Nobody wants the status quo, so we pay the inflated cost to feed egos. Want to fix things - tame inflation ... and good luck doing that.

I'll let you boomer haters know when I've exhausted the amount of money I've paid into SS and then let you know when I've exhausted what my employer also paid in. You can wait a while and wait for decades if they had paid a minimal amount of interest on that money.

Over 65 percent of Americans now living paycheck to paycheck. That and credit cards are the only things allowing the illusion that we are maintaining our standard of living. Retirement funds are kaputt. No one is saving. Interest rates are spiking. And everything costs waaaay too much (assuming it is even in stock). Biden and his tribe have destroyed the American dream. They are working overtime to keep the public for realizing it for 21 more months until November 2024. Then, you will eat ze bugs, own nothing, and like it (or else)
