Agree with you, yeah I hate that he cost us a couple of games but its done and over. He is leaving, don't let the door hit you in the a$$. But the 6 yr old level name calling is just low class.

100% this.

He missed 2 against Bama last year also..we were just able to overcome his choke same as with UK. Not able to vs UGA or OK.

If he simply makes that 42yd FG vs UGA...and nothing else is different all season long on the actual field (rankings, press etc would have been much different) the narrative for the entire season is different. Finish 9-3 with a top5 victory and barely miss playoffs, get the UGA streak off our backs, finish the season ranked 15th-20th and the entire narrative from local AND national media regarding our season is different. Banks still gets fired after poor season and Vandy azzbeating in Neyland. That miss was huge. More importantly it was part of a pattern.

No "possibly" about it with the OU game. We were going to win that game. When he missed that chip shot you could feel the energy drain from the crowd. Nothing was the same after that, especially when we had to watch OU's college level kicker nail 3 from 50+ and be the difference maker in the game.

That same OU kicker possibly cost them a playoff win. It's really not as easy as some make it out to be

Just for the record, UT could still have won that game in OT. But to come within a makeable 43-yd FG of beating a team that we haven’t beaten in quite a while, and then fail short, seemed, in hindsight, to take something out of the 2025 Vols. I have to believe they would have played better against Bama and likely beaten Zero U if Gilbert makes that FG.

So you are being called out for being sucky fan. Must be because it seems to be a consensus decision by the non trailer trash segment of our fanbase. We all have to deal with this free speech thing.

Players have to deal with real time pressure and 11 guys coming at them, you only have to deal with your own internal snarky demons on your couch.
