Being the head coach at Memphis isn't exactly the highlight of his career. I am more interested in his time at LSU, the fact that he recruited some of the best talent in the country and coached incredible talents like Joseph Addai. Nick Saban would fail at Memphis.

Two time recruiter of the year at LSU, and he's landed some decent talent at Memphis. I wouldn't trust him with anything above a position job, but he would be a great hire as RB coach.

Ok...Well if you all think he is the man....Recruiting to LSU is much easier than recruiting to Memphis but if he is as good as you all say then why didn't he at least make some noise in memphis?

Have you seen what LSU has been doing on Saturdays? He was the recruiting coordinator and two time National Recruiter of the year who put that junk together. :eek:k:

comparing Larry Porter to Trooper Talyor is just WRONG!!! All Taylor has is that he is great at chest bumping

Larry Porter is the Charlie Baggett of RB coaches AND can recruit.

Interesting. Go look at the RB's he coached and the success they had. Pretty cocky for him to take a HC job if he knew he couldn't coach or contribute to anything then wouldn't it?

Whoa now..... lets not get crazy. Porter is a really good recruiter and a solid RB coach, but Baggett is amongst the best of the best in the WR business.

Contrary to what you believe, porter is a TOP notch recruiter. Almost, or as good as Garner.

Ok so I reread CCB resume and reread CLP resume. I still believe my statement about compare CLP to a current or former UT coach shouldn't be that goff Trooper... CCB is one of the best in the Business and so is CLP... its just CLP hasn't been in the NFL like CCB has ans hasn't coached 30 plus years... I hope you understand my statement

Recruiting Coordinator (who has Joseph really brought to UT)

KEY POINTS
RB coach at OSU/LSU/ UT-M/ ARKANSAS STATE and Memphis HC( wasn't successful)
He was twice (2007 and 2009) named as the National Recruiter of the Year by Rivals.com
COACHED a dozen 1000 yard rushers quite a few current NFL backs
He is the Charlie Baggett for RBs

Defensive Recuriting Coordinator
Lance Thompson

O-Line coach
Mitch Browning Akron(former UT Coach)
or
Rick Mallory from UAB
OR
Joe Gilbert From Illinois
*Both (CRM and CJG) are long time O-line Coaches with good resumes
