Kiffin texting Pruitt during Vol Calls

His departure was largely due to fact that Mike Hamilton did not make Kiffin's buyout big because that was the only way to get his salary under $2MM.

Just to save a couple hundred thousand bucks, Hammy F'ed our program up for a decade...
That in itself didn’t. It was the subsequent hire.

Funny how everyone takes a bad situation that involved Kiffin here and write him off as a bad coach. Kiffin is a good coach and Ole Miss is going to be a very tough team to beat in a couple of years. He is great a scheming with the talent he has.

It's astoundingly stale. Guy can coach,.... and recruit

The losing season was a rebuild season and he completely turned FAU around. They were straight garbage before he showed up. He was 26-13 overall with Two conference USA titles.

Yeah, I guess that's his claim to fame. Although I think the losing season was sandwiched in between the two good seasons, so I don't know how that would qualify as rebuilding. Anyway, it doesn't change any of the facts I posted. He's still been average, at best, as a head coach. And he seems to bring trouble and distractions with him everywhere he goes. Maybe he finally lives up to his hype in Oxford. But I doubt it.

True, but there likely wouldnt have been a Doolwy hire in late January 2010 if Hammy wasn't negligent with the buyout provisions.

Pinching pennies again with Patterson in January 2010 was obviously a monumental F up as well...

No, you are correct to a certain extent, but his sudden departure humiliated the program’s reputation nationally for years. We are still suffering from that one action.
Lane has since said it was obviously the biggest mistake of his career. It did set us back a few years. I do think Lane has matured a lot and will make waves in the SEC IMO!

Kiffin is one of the main reasons TN has sucked for so long. You guys speak of him in a positive way. I don't want that asshat ever stepping on TN's campus again unless it's to kick the crap out of the team he's coaching.
You misspelled Mike Hamilton and Fulmer.

Honestly, in two more years with Chaney being older and his health cannot be 100% I would have no issues with bringing in Kiffin as a co-OC with the understanding that once Chaney retires he slips in as the OC. He has a good offensive mind.

Why do you think Chaney isn’t healthy?
