Keller Chryst Shines...

I think I know a little too!!! As stated, I can read. All I said was KC's 4 TDs to JGs 0 puts KC in the drivers seat CURRENTLY. That is all I said. It's my opinion, the site is full of opinions. You said you didn't read (article didn't state) where KC threw 4 TDs. I proved you wrong. Now, you are butthurt and trying to say you have been on this site for years and act as you know it all. LOL
As demonstrated by john brice's article Chryst threw 2 TD's in the scrimmage. Consult multiple sources before declaring what the truth is 'round here youngin. #109 on pg.5

JG has battered Vol syndrome like most of us fans and is unintentionally not confident with his surroundings. Most need to remember he is still working through stuff in his head whereas Chryst has a clean slate so to speak.

Of course Chryst has a clean slate so to speak!

In k-town and at the moment. I do think there's a chance JG's still hesitant with reads and maybe CJP is directing that comment toward him. Athleticism aside, if KC is a better game manager, reads the defense better and adjusts quicker, he'll be our guy.

Just out of curiosity.. if KC doesn't get it.. what does he do since that makes 2 schools that didn't want him as starter??

When I first heard that he was coming to the hill I thought it was an odd move... I think I was mistaken. Sounds like he is making it really hard on the coaches. JG should clearly be the guy because you can build for the future but if KC is the better player this year than you have to go with him.

I am pulling for the unknown guy. I have seen JG already. If JG does happen to win the job, I will be fine with that IF he can get the ball to the receivers
Crompton was a completely different QB in 09 with a new coaching staff than he was in 08. JG could very well have a similar transformation. Then again he may not. As far as I'm concerned he has a clean slate. I just want whoever gives us the best chance to win.

The most important thing other than the obvious is there are finally some coaches in Knoxville who know football, know how to develope, and know how to build character.

Something with his degree from Stanford, perhaps? Kid is living a dream.. Got a great degree from one of the best universities in the world and now he’s competing for a starting QB position in the SEC.

Comparing any QB to crompton is an automatic bad sign

Meh. Situationally it's the right context. And Crompton did get a lot better with the new coaching.

We'll see if the comparison holds up as we get into the season.

At the moment, I still think the job is still JGs to lose. Still over 2 weeks until game day, though, so there is plenty of time for that to change, especially if Chryst's performance from yesterday carries over to the remainder of fall camp.

Personally I like to hear about (read) about practices that are open but when the information is gathered from a closed practice it’s troubling to me. The least amount of information available to our opponents the better.

The reality is that Chryst has had better "teachers" involved with his entire life. He might grasp the offense better and might be more of a "game manager" per say.
JG seems to want to be "the guy" and doesn't have that mentality of being patient.
Butch put a lot of game, and the offense on Dobbs shoulders.. and I think he does this for whatever QB he had.
Our current offensive scheme may rely on more of a game manager as QB.

I wouldn't draw any conclusions based on the info... but it is about as reliable as the opinions of a few reporters that JG had a "huge" lead a few days ago based on the few minutes they're allowed to see.

If we knew who was going out first with the 1's and getting the most reps with the 1's then we'd have a clearer idea. Neither this nor the earlier reports saying JG led... tell us that.

Getting snaps with the 1st string is not an indicator to me. Schaffer got 1st team reps. Fulmer wanted to give him a shot during the UNLV game as a true freshman. I believe all along that Fulmer had Ainge pegged as the eventual starter, so he let Schaffer start and eliminate himself from the competition.
Sure, Schaffer showed out during the UNLV game but after than Ainge slowly got the job, then when Schaffer got out of bed and chased down a guy who had insulted his girlfriend, that was the end of Schaffer.
