I read it wrong, it was those that witnessed the 100 play scrimmage said he did well. So why doubt them? Where you there to say different or are you calling this writer a liarIt’s a closed scrimmage for a reason, if Pruitt wanted us to know something legitimate then it would get out. And no where does it say that 100 people said Chryst looked good. Also, I don’t understand “where you there”.
Enough! Let the coaches do their job and quit all this discussion about something about which no one on this board knows the facts.Yes. But it could be poorly written when he meant to say "multiple" TD's combined. Either way, it sounds like KC looked better than JG in this particular scrimmage.
HOWEVER... just like last year, we don't know what portion of the O they're letting each guy run. We don't know if they were working on specific things with JG that caused him not to look as good. In these situations, there are always possibilities beyond knowing through casual observation.
Agree. “Multiple” doesn’t equal 4, not sure came up with that number. And for a QB who “shined”, there wasn’t a whole said about him in the article. And quite honestly, if JG can’t beat this guy out, then he needs to go and we gotta hope and pray Shrout progresses at warp speed for 2019 or that Maurer is a freshman phenom.Help me out here. Where does it say Chryst had 4 touchdown passes? Clearly I missed that. Also the article was positive on both quarterbacks and I believe they both may have qualities the other may not. It stated Guarantano made some plays with his legs and had a pass for a long gain. None of that says to me that one is distancing himself from the other, although, I don’t have an agenda or am not biased toward one or the other either. I’m sure people can read and take only the parts they want out of an article to support their stance.
Chryst did NOT throw 4 TDs in the scrimmage. Brice said he threw one to Jordan Murphy and one to Brandon JohnsonI think I know a little too!!! As stated, I can read. All I said was KC's 4 TDs to JGs 0 puts KC in the drivers seat CURRENTLY. That is all I said. It's my opinion, the site is full of opinions. You said you didn't read (article didn't state) where KC threw 4 TDs. I proved you wrong. Now, you are butthurt and trying to say you have been on this site for years and act as you know it all. LOL
No benefit of the doubt necessary. Both had their issues. But Dormady had a better command of the O. That's how he won the job. If JG had been equal in that regard, he would have been the starter in August. So give all benefit of the doubt to dormady, but ignore how jg had to play with way less available due to injury, also since when is only the QB responsible for winning a game? Why does the team have a win loss record if it's all on the qb?
Just wanted to respond since you gave me a chance to agree with you 100%.It's good that KC is stepping up and providing competition. Sounds like they both played well. The article definitely didn't say that is was 4 tds to 0. We'll know in the next week and a half who the starter will be. They will have one before the game prep starts.
Based on the last article posted... you should have listened to me when ALL I was doing is saying that maybe what was written wasn't very clear. It appears... you misunderstood.I think I know a little too!!! As stated, I can read. All I said was KC's 4 TDs to JGs 0 puts KC in the drivers seat CURRENTLY. That is all I said. Yes. I like debating. I haven't denied that for about 13 years now.Ok, I see why you have 34,000 post. You like to start debates and like to have the last word.
That apparently weren't what you thought.I am going off of the writer's written words.
I actually said this before the season but am not as sure now. I don't think he was brought in just to provide "competition" to JG. I think the new staff had/has genuine doubts about JG.My money is on KC.
I just want the best guy to start and then let it play from there. I agree with you on JG. I think he'll leave if he doesn't start and probably should to get a fresh start. But, I would rather it be JG due to him having more than one year of eligibility remaining. I think KC starts, JG transfers, and we have Shrout or Maurer at the helm next season.
That's one of my doubts about JG. He had to grow up. We'll see if he has.We all saw JG act like a baby on the sidelines already. If he gets benched for a one year wonder, he is gone!
If JG doesn't become the starting QB this season it's a very sure thing in my opinion that he wont be in Knoxville in 2019. I don't think he would want to stay around unless he were promised the starting QB job in 2019.Yes. I like debating. I haven't denied that for about 13 years now.

If I were in his shoes, I'd just want to get a restart somewhere else.If JG doesn't become the starting QB this season it's a very sure thing in my opinion that he wont be in Knoxville in 2019. I don't think he would want to stay around unless he were promised the starting QB job in 2019.
It’s poorly written because it isn’t clear what he meant. Stop bolding, capitalizing, and exclamation marking stuff like a prick. It doesn’t prove anything.Well, it is really poorly written if a journalist or writer can't write a simple statement as easily stated as this one. Multiple vs BOTH 1st and 2nd team D..... ISN'T COMBINED !!!
Keller Chryst shines in Vols first scrimmage of training camp
I’ve been saying it since he announced his transfer, Chryst was the best QB the second he stepped on campus.
