Is it too important to rob the FBI of a month and a half to look into this so it would have to be rushed and/or delay the process?

You know how I feel about the Democrats delay tactics. The Republicans pulled shenanigans with Garland and the Democrats are doing their damnedest to do worse. However, it is just the position that I am talking about. Give the FBI 7 days to get it done. Hold the vote next Friday.

Actually, it reeks of helplessness and desperation, so maybe it's less about juevos than that, on second thought.

Again, you're arguing partisanship. My argument is simply get someone deserving in the position. If he comes back clean after the FBI looks into this then the democrats will look like fools.

Here's the rub. Dems will say a week from the scheduled vote which was next Tuesday. Then it will be we need to negotiate the terms of the investigation and need weeks of meetings to do so.

I can guarantee Dems would not agree to holding the vote next Friday.

7 days, 7 months or 7 years, they WILL NOT accept anyone Trump or any other GOP President puts up.

That's not how it would work, and the Ds have given no good faith that it is how it would work. That 7 days would be used to prop up six more accusations, and every hindsight-perjury-trap imaginable. It would not be 7 days. That 7 days would just be used to further politicize more delays.

The Rs should push this through right now. T

They just moved it out of the committee, so it really doesn't matter, even if they vote next Friday, there really isn't anyone to do any investigation, that's done by the committee. The whole thing is so cray cray that its almost not worth talking about except for entertainment.

What they just did was move it out the investigation body, so now its at the floor. I would just tell them, we'll schedule it for X day, you do whatever you want to do until then,

Just what "rocks" do you think that the Dems have not turned? It is a stall tactic, that is all. They know nothing will be found.

Not if he nominated Merrick Garland. I really don't want to comment on whether or not this woman is telling the truth, I have seen women lie about such matters as I previously said. It is sad that we are talking about this situation strictly in political terms.

I am not arguing partisanship. I'm pointing out BS when I see it. If that was D's concern, they would have had it investigated.

And I'm arguing faith in our system, that allows a president to make his appointments while providing for ways to remove justices if the situation calls for it.

Trump should make the offer. Very simple... the FBI gets access to everything accumulated by the committee thus far and they have 5 days to give the results of the investigation. Vote 48 hours later. No negotiation on the investigation. Follow it where it needs to go and move on.
