Kavanaugh Confirmation

I'm not arguing for partisan purposes. I just recognize the partisan hijinks. The President nominated a justice. If there are votes, confirm. But the Ds want to do anything they can, whether ethical or not, to delay it in hopes that Trump doesn't get his pick. They want payback for Obama and political hijinks to protect their SC.

There is no fear here. I have no fear about an investigation. I just recognize dirty poker when it's played.

I find the issue much larger than that. They are trying to put a man on the highest court where he will remain for the next 30 or so years. I would like to be sure they don't put someone up that doesn't deserve it.

So the basis for the dims and left to stop this nomination relies on juvenile fart jokes, juvenile drinking, the xanax drenched memory of a loon, high school year books, their failure to not report but instead exploit sexual assault claims, being angry at Trump, and ignoring witness testimony. Sounds legit.

Respect on the getting shot at post. I quoted it and lost it somehow. My whole family was USAF, none were ever shot at though. My pappaw was stationed in Philippines during korea and vnam though, was a msgt. Loading bombs and missiles on aircraft. He said when some of the evac planes would land, they would be stacked up with GIs badly wounded. He cries every time he had told me the stories about having to inload the plane and lay all the men out on the sidewalk putside the hospital for triage...to put them in order for help worst to best. He said so much blood was lost that it qas running down the sidewalk into the stormdrain at the road. Shakes his head crying every time saying "they were just kids..." as a master sergeant, by that time, he had his 20 and was teaching young 18 and 19 year old airmen like the soldiers wounded...they were like sons to him. To see the kids coming back missing limbs, dying on the plane or right on the sidewalk, it kills him. In my 41 year life, he has only talked about that 2 or 3 times. He has more stories from 26 years of service than i will ever have to tell. 10 times as many as my colonel dad had, he was always stateside in an office other than visits to germany or turkey, etc.

To your story, i have been shot at multiple times 1 night, cut up, etc in bar brawls and other mischief. Despite being very, very drunk i can remember nearly every detail. That lady is either very crazy or FOS.

I am not viewing it as a partisan issue. I just thought both people testified credibly and both had some flaws. There is a short investigation that should be done to see if anything can be corroborated.
That will be defined as "too short" depending on the findings.

The Dems have been trying to find corroboration for the past six weeks. There is NONE. If they had it, they would have used it. Pure stall tactic.

Yes, you'd think if someone had that allegation, the Democrats would want to get that investigation started immediately when it was known.

Not 6 weeks later just before the vote. There's your partisanship.

So you don't trust the system? You trust that confused testimony that couldn't give a shred of detail that would make her accusations testable more than you trust the constitutional process to confirm a SC justice, and remove if needed?

Or do you suspect that he doesn't deserve it based on ideological and party reasons?

Appoint Garland as that olive branch that leads to a new and better tomorrow.

As Lindsay Graham just said - the number of people who's minds will be changed after a short FBI investigation could fit in a phonebooth.

The ballgame has changed. Now they can drum up interest in the definitions of boofing and "devil's triangle" to try to keep him out on procedural/perjury accusations. We see it shifting in real time right here on VN.

At this point, unless I am mistaken this is going to the floor, if they want to not move it there they can but generally there really is no FBI "investigation", which is what the Republicians were talking about at the end. lol They can redo the BG check I guess but yeah, there isn't going to be an 'investigation". They voted to move it out of the investigation body i.e. the committee. LOL

Nope.

Appoint your president's appointment if he gets the votes, and remove him if you get a valid reason to. Stop asking everyone else to do the D's job for them.

Your idol once said, "Elections have consequences." You have a new sheriff. He gets to do his job.

By then theyll dig 10 more accusers
I'm going to predict these will happen:
1. FBI controlled by Trump
2. Trump
3. Not enough time for the FBI
4. Trump
5. More accusers found FBI must investigate
6. Toxic masculinity
7. Victim shaming

Any of those will be coming off the lips of dims when this doesnt go there way.

I agree with you for once.

Well, maybe two months ago when DiFi first got the letter.
