Kavanaugh Confirmation

Has there been any explanation or even any attempt by the "press" to find out what was Sheila Jackson Lee (I think it was her) envelope to Ford's lawyer thing was all about?

So other than the right-wing pundits and hacks, anyone marginally mainstream saying no FBI investigation is warranted?

So the ABA, Jesuits, and Yale are all now asking for an fbi investigation

Well, they are legally idiots. The FBI generally investigates federal crimes, none of those entities has personal knowledge to spark a complaint or report. Even if they did, there is no federal crime in which to investigate.

Hold on - it's just a job interview right? The deciders are the Committee and they have decided they have enough info.

Oh I admit 100% they're beholden to nobody on this vote. But there's a difference between one what can do and what one should do. Wouldn't you agree?

They do background investigations if requested to do so for judicial appointments. This is really not an issue at this point.

How stupid do you think someone could be... It was an envelope, had to be money, no other explanation.

You're taking these back and forths on here way too seriously. But to answer your question, based on sh!t that gets posted here daily and sh!t that takes place in Washington on a daily basis, there are plenty of stupid people that, in theory, I could see being that stupid.

Yes, and they never follow up on new information. That'd be just silly.

The only way another background check by the FBI would result in any further enlightenment into this situation is if individuals who have already given sworn statements tell the FBI something different than what was in those statements. Obviously, this possibility exists. But should these individuals repeat their sworn statements to the FBI, what exactly would have been accomplished?

Confimation or not the Dims have written the rule book in how to stall/obstruct/derail any future candidates. I wonder if it will come back to haunt them.............

In more ways than you can imagine - the process was absolutely chock full of "can do but shouldn't do" but all of that seems to be ignored since it fits the larger goal of stopping the nomination.

Yes, I completely agree Feinstein should have turned over this information to the FBI in July.
