Kavanaugh Confirmation

They do background investigations if requested to do so for judicial appointments. This is really not an issue at this point.

Yes there is no issue, the background check was completed as far as they have said in the committee. What does this have to do with those entities that suck off the governments tit?

The only way another background check by the FBI would result in any further enlightenment into this situation is if individuals who have already given sworn statements tell the FBI something different than what was in those statements. Obviously, this possibility exists. But should these individuals repeat their sworn statements to the FBI, what exactly would have been accomplished?

So, let's say there is evidence he lied to the committee. Who would investigate that?

You're taking these back and forths on here way too seriously. But to answer your question, based on sh!t that gets posted here daily and sh!t that takes place in Washington on a daily basis, there are plenty of stupid people that, in theory, I could see being that stupid.

I have some time to do so, but you are probably right.

Guessing, but probably the committee, which means the GOP would have to do it or request the FBI's assistance. So basically there's no consequence to lying to the committee if they're on your side.

Reactions: Stew Cook
Ramirez.. Nevermind, it's not important because K said so.

Ramirez's allegations didn't meet journalistic standards per the NYTs. If they based on their research decided there's just nothing to back up this story why would we consider it worthy of delaying this process for FBI investigation?

Ford's allegation was the only one with sufficient credibility to investigate further. It WAS investigated further using a process that has been used in every confirmation hearing - Democrats refused to participate so they could claim the investigation was biased (they manufactured bias).

You can reopen it based on new information that was not available to the FBI first time around. This is beyond debate at this point.

Maybe so, but so what. There is nobody to talk to... all they do is take statements, generally speaking. They're not going to go look for a crime scene. They can only really take people's statements that decide they want to speak. Same thing for a security clearance check, some people will talk, some won't. In this case, there really isn't anyone to talk to and not its really not an investigation, not really. LOL

The committee could continue to investigate, as they are the investigation body. They will be voting to whether to move it forward or not.

The room started to fill back up, then everyone started chitchatting. The only people left in the room is Hatch and Grassley now. So something is going on.

where are you hearing it is Flake - the AP article (I skimmed) seemed to suggest it's votes to confirm not votes to have him go out of committee.
