Let an investigation come out. Let the truth come out. Regardless, the vote will be put on hold until this is cleared up. Or else the slim majority lead the GOP currently has in the Senate will evaporate quicker than an ice cube in hell.

The FBI received a version of the letter with Ford’s name redacted, according to a Republican official with knowledge of the letter, and then sent it to the White House to be included in Kavanaugh’s background file. The White House sent it to the Senate Judiciary Committee, making it available to all senators.

As pressure grew, the New York Times reported that the incident involved “possible sexual misconduct.”

Basically, this is like telling the cops "A crime was committed. We'll tell you who allegedly committed the crime, but not against whom, where it happened nor give a specific time frame. Now, figure it out."

Regardless, things of this nature are outside the purview of the FBI unless it was a kidnapping and crossed State lines. Which it did not.

So, in the absence of a whole lotta details, they forwarded it to the White House which, in turn, forwarded it to the committee which was the right thing to do.

Well since she’s public now we will see if they approach her to investigate or if she declines to talk to them. If she doesn’t press then I’d guess they drop it. And if that happens then get the damn confirmation done.
