The coaching staff has a new recruiting energy. Hopefully Butch can rely on the coaches to do 80% of the recruiting and he can come in to close the deal on the big boys. I have a feeling this kid will be a Vol. Happy days....

I hope your feeling is right. I think we can flip Jordan, but Mom worries me. Apparently, Butch and company really need to recruit Mom harder, she seems to be calling the shots

I think the mom things is being a bit overplayed by folks on here. I just think she doesn't want him making a knee jerk reaction. I think she visits with him, and then we see what happens.

I think Mom is looking as much at closeness to home as anything. Can't blame her for that if true. I think we have a shot, if we can get Mom on campus. I still believe it will be a long shot though. Have to overcome Mom...and it is Bama.

Yeah. Saw yours after I posted.

I think it's doable, just don't think it's going to be easy. The fact that we are able to go head to head again with some of these schools says a lot about this staff and where we are heading though IMO.

Never easy when recruiting kids in the Top 100. I still have nightmares of a few years back when we had to search long and hard to have a kid in the Top 250 even show interest in us.

I'm trying to erase those years out of my mind. It was much worse than searching long and hard though. We had a couple in our own state and Dooley didn't even know who they were. If Butch hadn't started when he did we would have lost Hurd (regardless of how it ended) and Malone too....along with several others.

No doubt on that. Many on here have probably fogotten how great that March of 2013 was when all those 4/5 stars started committing at once. Its the first tme I had felt hope in a long, long time.

I agree. I know a lot on here and in the fan base in general are getting impatient and I can understand that, but look at the big picture on what Butch has done here.

I love Fulmer, but do believe it may have been time for him to go. Was it handled right? Probably not. His last couple of recruiting classes were far from stellar though. Kiffin is a douche. How he left sucks, but.....one year here. What hurts worse is his one recruiting class. Started off looking like world beaters....ended up being horrible. Then...da da da...Dooley. We had already come off of 2-3 years of less than stellar recruiting and followed that up with Dooley.

Am I starting to get impatient? I guess I would be lying if I said I wasn't. The fact is, he has made changes to improve this team every year. The fan base has just gotten so impatient, that as soon as he makes changes, the fans are already talking about how he screwed up by not making the next change on their list (ie...it has been Martinez for a couple of years...as soon as Martinez is replaced...How can Butch not see that the problem is Thigpen?)

Will Butch be the end all be all? Maybe, maybe not.

But is he what TN has needed to date? IMO...let me re-iterate...IMO...if you don't believe he is exactly what we have needed...AND...has done a good job in that role...then you are stupid (not you, but fans in general).

Just my double ought cents worth.

6 wins is better than 5, 7 is better than 6, and 9 is better than 7. 9 is not worse than 9. That is the course we've been on. . . a whole lot better than it was for years and there is no reason to think the improvement on and off the field won't continue.

I don't see the humor factor in your posts that others do. Maybe I'm wrong, so my apologies if I am, but you've always seemed like a moron (who admittedly is some kind of UT football fan) who has no concept and doesn't want to have any kind of concept...of what this program has been through and what it may actually take to get us back on top.

Once again (read it slowly...pronounce the syllables and put in the punctuation), this is not a personal attack, but, too many people are wanting an instant fix to something that started being broken back in 20...06-07-08. This is year 5...to fix something that was horribly broken. If you want a quick fix that may not last....that's one thing. If you take your time and fix it right...maybe it will stick for a long time.

Personally...I'm not looking for a NC and then years of oblivion. I'm looking for longevity at the top.

Maybe I'm the stupid one.

I appreciate that. I understand that maybe I'm wrong, but there are some fans that are just so far off base in their thinking. I'm not talking about guys like Breaker ( who i agree with and disagree with all the time)(who I also respect a lot). I'm talking about the instant gratification fans. Breakerboy at least has arguments beyond Butch sucks. Breakerboy and I have wholeheartedly agreed on John Kelly since day one. We also agreed that Martinez needed to go. Where we disagree now is...Thigpen. Not that I don't think he needs to go, because I do, but the timing. Butch is trying (IMO) to make long term lasting changes. He could not do that all at once.

Guys like Terry...I have no idea what they are thinking. But I also do not find any humor in their stupid posts. I truly believe they try to hide their ignorance in their dumb ass'ed...I don't even know grammar.....posts.

Yeah, Butch has improved things dramatically. Does not mean he has done everything perfectly. What happens next two years will determine his long term legacy I believe.
