When I think back on Hunter, I think of a freak athlete that never 100% put it all together on the field (while at UT). Don't get me wrong - still a great player, but I always had this feeling like he wasn't fulfilling all of his potential.
I say this cause I think the comparisons between athletic ability to Malone are somewhat unfair. Hunter was definitely a better raw specimen then Malone, but it's not like he was maxing it out like we see Calvin Johnson, Julio Jones, and many of the great WRs do.
Hunter lacked that physicality and tenacity when going after the ball, after the catch, and blocking. Also, when going against SEC competition, you just didn't seem him make too many guys miss.
I suspect Malone will be a better WR for us in the long run, closer to CP and North in regards to impact on the field.
