"Very relieved," Malone exclusively told VolQuest.com about ending the recruiting phase of his career and beginning at UT. "My mother made me promise when I committed that I would end the process. So it's over and I'm glad. It got pretty hectic at the end. I had good options and it was hard to decide and a lot of pressure. "But I'm happy with my decision and glad it's over."
Malone had long been working toward being a mid-term enrollee, a point of emphasis because Malone wants to have a chance to be an instant-impact player.
"It's a great feeling. It got here a lot quicker than I thought. But I'm ready, and it's one of my goals," said the 6-foot-3, 195-pounder. "I just have to keep working to prove I belong."
"I feel like working with them has helped me mature in the classroom and on the field," said Malone, whose work with Playmakers including working out with high-profile prospects such as Rashaan Gaulden, Jalen Ramey and Emmanuel Smith, among others. "I was able to get a really good ACT score and so I am able to enroll early. They demand excellence in the classroom and the field, so I expect that of myself."
