Still almost a dream that we got Malone, and Hurd. I just can't believe this staff recruits this great. The whole class is littered with stud recruits. Absolutely unreal.

Josh Heimoldt did a Rivals video of UT's commits at the Army Bowl. He said Josh has performed pretty well so far, but the QBs haven't looked his way or have been able to get the ball to him. Heimoldt said Malone is a fluid WR and has some nice wiggle once the ball is in his hands.

QB play in the AA games the last few years has been remarkably underwhelming.

I have to go get my stuff at home and then after that I’m going up there. It’s only three hours away.”

“You get to see where you’re at, and how you can rank yourself against the top competition,” Malone said. “We’re talking to each other. We’re in the same class so we have to know each other, and it’s been good getting to know them. I know a lot of the other guys also, so it’s been a good experience being down here with them and being able to reconnect with them.”

Of course QBs don't look good in these all star games. These dumb as coaches install a spread passing system for guys who have played all of 4 practices together.

And the finished product has looked like pure horse sh** each last few yrs.




Stupidest s**t ever.
Play conventional ofFense and throw basic route combos.
Let the kids show case their talents instead of you audition for a next kevwk job

IMO these games give a better look at the guys in the trenches/front seven than many of the skill positions for these very reasons. Blitzing is usually a no-go so in the fronts there are usually some good one on one matchups and mano y mano battles.

I talked to one of the main guys I trust to evaluate talent (he's a Minnesota fan so he's really unbiased about top talent) and he said Josh is easily the best WR in the class. He says he likes guys like Lane too, but Josh is already a polished WR with good speed and well above average athleticism. Nothing we don't know, I was just happy to get some unbiased opinions.

I'm gonna say Malone is gonna be a borderline Top 10 player in rivals final rankings, 11-13 range IMO.

Barton Simmons said Malone has played/practiced like the top WR in the country.

He got a bump on Rivals. I think he'll definitely get one on 247.

Top 10 match ups to watch in the Army Bowl.

3. WR JOSH MALONE VS. CB DAMON WEBB
Josh Malone has proven his talents and has been solid throughout the week for the East squad. Rivals100 cornerback Damon Webb comes equipped with a very well- rounded game of his own. Both have been consistent throughout the week and do not make many mistakes. This will be a battle of wills and both are high-effort guys with big-time ability.
