When I think back on Hunter, I think of a freak athlete that never 100% put it all together on the field (while at UT). Don't get me wrong - still a great player, but I always had this feeling like he wasn't fulfilling all of his potential.

I say this cause I think the comparisons between athletic ability to Malone are somewhat unfair. Hunter was definitely a better raw specimen then Malone, but it's not like he was maxing it out like we see Calvin Johnson, Julio Jones, and many of the great WRs do.

Hunter lacked that physicality and tenacity when going after the ball, after the catch, and blocking. Also, when going against SEC competition, you just didn't seem him make too many guys miss.

I suspect Malone will be a better WR for us in the long run, closer to CP and North in regards to impact on the field.

" There have been some who suggested Gallatin (Tenn.) Station Camp five-star receiver Josh Malone decided on Tennessee months ago and was stringing along outsiders to build drama for last Wednesday's announcement.

Just to close the book there, but that could not have been further from the case.

Malone, in fact, was telling people close to him several days after his Clemson official visit the week earlier that he would be going to Clemson.

Then Tennessee's staff swooped in with its 12-vehicle caravan complete with police escort, followed by Malone's now-infamous trip to Kansas City. Both staffs had their final in-homes, and the decision reversed."

I don't understand why anyone connected with Clemson would be upset about Josh going to see a game between Kansas City and Denver, there's only seven former Tennessee players on the two teams while Clemson has a whopping total of 0 on the 2 teams.

Just watched some highlights of Malone from earlier this season. Dude is a straight baller. He can be a stud if we get him some solid QB play.

What infamous trip to Kansas City are that talking about?

Anyone know?

Did CBJ take him to KC or what? Weird...

Isn't that the truth from Malone? Didn't they said we led until the Clemson trip? And then changed his mind on the Friday before his announcement back to Tennessee.
