Josh Dobbs - NFL Draft thread (merged)

Not in McShay's first round.

Did McShay predict this?

Mitch Trubisky is going 1st overall to the Browns.

Not surprising. The Cleveland Browns will always find a way to screw things up. Even when they are handed a future Hall of Fame Defensive End to them on a golden platter.

Trubisky is NOT going #1 overall. You must be the most gullible person in the world.

Also, what's up with the comment, "Did McShay predict this?" Just two or three days ago, you were stupidly claiming that now is the time to listen to McShay and Kiper because now they're getting ACTUAL INFO from teams on who they plan to draft." This was a stupid statement then, and it's still a stupid comment now. Nevertheless, not even the Browns are stupid enough to take Trubisky #1 overall in this draft.

Guys, I'm an Ohio guy who's been eating all the draft information I can and am on social media. There is a tornado of craziness in Cleveland today. It's going beyond anything I've ever seen. The insiders are saying Trubisky and McCaffery at 12. That is LIGHTING UP Cleveland fans. There are people losing their minds on air. There is a HELL'A good chance Dobbs gets picked 1 and that's not a lie.

as this week has gone on, there's so much misinformation going on, in an attempt to get a team to go one way or another, to another's advantage, you can't really make heads or tails of any of it.

at the end of the day, it makes zero sense for all this nonsense otherwise.

the Jets would love to see if they could get Cleveland to pull the trigger on a trade. so would Tennessee.

if i'm cleveland, i stay put, keep my picks and dare someone to take one of these qb's in the top 5 or 6. even if they do, what's the worst that happens? you get to still pick the 2nd best qb in a group of qb's that typically wouldn't have any business being drafted until the 2nd round or later.

if what they think could happen, happens, then it's complete failure by multiple teams. there's too much better talent available at other key positions to let this crop of QBs dictate.

I agree with everything but this, because who are you to say who is going to be a success in cleveland. It's not about just picking a player that ESPN says to pick. You would wind up with 9 tight ends, 44 defensive backs and a running back at QB. It's about picking the right FIT.

It has been my opinion for some time that Myles Garrett will only work in a warm weather team and has no business in AFC north, and I think he knows that and has been trying to tell people that.

it wasn't referencing Cleveland only. but if Cleveland does give up picks to move up to 5 to get Mitch Trubisky because they're scared the jets are going to pull the trigger, then i would call that a failure given the # of pics they have, and how deep this draft is.

and as much as i like Josh Dobbs and think he will wind up being a good qb in the league, if someone takes him in the 1st round, they're high.

and if they do, it's going to be because several teams reached on QB's early, and someone feels forced to address their qb situation a whole lot earlier than they want to.

in reality, there should be 2 qb's taken in the 1st round. Cleveland at 12 and Houston at 25. no one else HAS to have a qb that early. and there's just too many other players available that could have big impacts elsewhere on a given team.

The problem is there is NO number one pick in this draft IMO. garrett is the best athlete but not the best player, there are teams in the top ten that ARE going to take QB's. If you need the most important player on your team and you have the number one pick and you're taking a risk on your career adn millions of dollars, you take a QB. I swear there would not be this much definitive talk about Trubisky unless it was a smokescreen. There is a hell'a good chance the Browns take the QB that they loved in person... Dobbs. Not say'n but the way this is going down...I'm say'n.

If you have the number one pick and you need a QB...you go get him.

It sounds like you think there is a chance that the Browns are going to take Josh Dobbs 1st overall. Am I reading that right? Do you think there's even a snowball's chance in hell that it happens?

Honestly there isn't any can't miss talent in this year's draft at QB. late 2nd early 3rd is where they should all go but Cleveland...

I'm saying ANYTHING can happen that has as much chance of happening as anything at this point.

Don't let this Dobbs talk distract you from the fact that if Jalen Hurd had a brain, he'd be in the talks of first-second round right now. Today or tomorrow would have been his day. I can't wrap my head around it. Amazing.

Let's look at this as facts. There are four or five things that CAN happen at number one.

1: Garrett

2: Trubisky

3: Jamal Adams (a lot of folks saying he is a better football player and fit)

4: Dobbs

5: Trade the pick for more picks

They don't need more picks, and they need a QB.

The way I see it, that gives Dobbs about a 25% chance of going #1 over all.

There is a 5000% chance that Josh Dobbs isn't taken #1.....absolutely no chance he goes 1. There is an outside chance he will go in the 2nd, depending on who reaches for QBs in the 1st round, but it isn't a rational thought that he will go overall #1
