JG vs Harrison Bailey

I'm sure I'm in the minority on this here, but no. We can't recruit like those other schools. The days of consistently pulling top 5 classes are over. How many top 5 classes have we had in the past 15 years? If you all want to live in the 90s and early 2000s that's fine, but I try to set my expectations on recent trends.
Booo. Sit down

He’s actually 205 now if my source is correct but I think what’s holding him back more than anything is his gunslinger mentality. He’s gotta learn that he doesn’t have to do it all in his own like he did in HS along with situational football. Pruitt would hypothetically rather see a wide open dump off for 5 yards and a punt than to take a chance downfield with only 2 yards of separation. If we’re down 7 in the second or third I agree with that. He needs to learn to live to fight another down vs when to take chances. I just hope they’re not trying to get that killer mentality out of him completely because like I said, although he may throw a pick or 2 more hell Light up a scoreboard in a heartbeat.

And he'll light up the Hearts of Volnation!

I guess I can't...
Redshirt freshman who had actually played a game last season gets keelhauled and that proves that a TRUE freshman is the only answer? Can’t get there with you.

Keelhaul is a bit hyperbole, but...yeah.

Look, whether it's a true freshman or a graduate transfer, the best QB is the one who shows it on game day. That QB got sacked ten 10 times vs Florida...he wouldn't let the ball go or run the ball enough.

I've said all I can about my opinion of Maurer, we're all just waiting for him to prove me right at this point. He won't start vs Florida... but he will play and will never look back.

Butchna, what I just said...is EXACTLY what's going to happen. He'll come in against Florida after JG is ineffective, and hold the starting spot until he graduates from TN.

That’s definitely something I can get on board with. I may have my doubts at this moment but let me be clear..... if he touches the field I believe there will be major changes. From fan support to recruiting and possibly even the roster. He’s not a practice player..... he’s a gamer.

That “will” thing is where posters disconnect with you. You give OPINION lip service but declare same as facts almost unilaterally. It may happen...but it’s not because you KNEW it. And if it doesn’t you’re going to reap unnecessary grief.

Truth is I’m not convinced that Pruitt will give him an opportunity given his playing style unless he’s forced. If I had to guess CJP likes games that end 13-10 rather than 41-31.

I think Pruitt always played his best as a DC and that ain’t changing as a HC. If Chaney evaluates Maurer as the best option, he’ll start.

Understood but the way I took it when coach Wink was asked about it was it’s going to be CJPs decision in the end. All he and CJC can do is advise one way or the other.

As a HC EVERYTHING is Pruitt’s final decision. Expect much more deferment with Chaney in charge.

Only time will tell but it spoke volumes to me that Chaney wouldn’t comment on the qbs after halftime of the spring game without permission. Although I admired the respect.

How do you know that isn’t his normal modus operandi? He always dish on UGA QB’s after Spring Games? Did he need permission from Smart?

What will you say if he never starts a game here? It's a much better chance of that happening than him coming in to relive an "ineffective" JG.

What gives you the idea that it’s a MUCH better chance? Let me be clear that I believe JG will be fine but now that you bring that up I’ll respond. This team is EXPECTED to be at least 7-5. If JG underperforms and it brings us to a point of not meeting our goals then it becomes HIGHLY possible by week 7. Which by the way he’s played in the past is HIGHLY POSSIBLE. If he never starts a game so be it. He’ll start somewhere that’s for sure and like I’ve said before... we’ll be watching him on Saturdays highlights, kicking ourselves in the ass for not supporting him. Simple as that

Is it grief tho?
Or don't I ask for it??

All that matters is when I'm right. If I always "knew", then timing is in Fact irrelevant.

Think about it. When I become right, are you really going to become upset? No...

Course not...we’d have a HOF QB...IF you GUESSED right. 😏

Plus, if Pruitt does put him in, he might make him hand off, not wanting a “quarterback controversy”.
