so you're bashing Dooley for playing a kid that gives UT the best shot to win and also bashing him for something that happens in the future in your head? No wonder the guy can't win with some people
So abandon the whole season for 1 player? What?I have said from the second Worley came in the game that it was the wrong decision. I think we should have just cut our losses and continued building for the future. It's not like he should be or is going to be fired based on what happens this year. Next year is the first year the W-L record really matters.
If a true freshman has the chance to start 4-6 games, at quarterback no less, and still wants to redshirt... Let him transfer.

Jerry is probably still pissed that Manning got the nod that year and that overshadowed him getting any media love for the rest of his career. lol
He didn't have a career after that injury. He was a fifth year senior, and an extra year of eligibility was denied. I know everyone, including the coaching staff was sick over that happening to a guy who had waited so patiently behind Shuler for his turn to play. Manning entered that game in a tie for third string with Branndon Stewart behind Colquitt and Helton.
I think he pretty well explained why he felt this way. You may disagree with it, but that doesn't mean he's necessarily wrong. Why don't you go ask Worley if he thinks he is glad he gave up one of his years as the starter just so he can start two games (maybe as many as 4 depending on what happens with Bray) in an already lost season?
I think Worley will be a better QB in 2013 because of this and not just because of the experience he'll gain this year as a starter. After getting a taste of what it's like being an SEC QB, he will work harder in the offseason and pay more attention in film study. All that combined will give us a much better chance to get a win IN THE SWAMP in 2013 as opposed to that game being Worley's first start in the SEC.
I won't go into great detail on how big that game will be. It is obvious. We should be coming off a solid 2012 season and that game will play a big part in sustaining the resurgence of Tennessee football.
