IU VS BAMA

IU is definitely for real. Danny Dollars needs to go offer him $20M. He has resurrected an absolutely dead program. I’m not sure there’s ever been a better coaching job from where IU was.
It’s a fun thought, but there’s no way he’d leave IU for us. Let’s not get delusional.

That said as much as I like Heupel I really wish we’d hired Cig instead. Imagine where we’d be as a program. Lordy.

80% of their team is from the portal.

Great coaches. Great at spotting talent and character from the portal. Great execution by the team and coaches. Indiana sure makes EVERY other coaching staff look bad.
Cig has been able to use this recipe at most of his stops along the way. The way his system and staff develop players is second to none. A lot of these guys (not all, obviously) are middle of the road or project players.

He’s the blueprint to model a program after in this new NIL/Portal dominated world.

Oregon has to win a big game for me to actually think they can win. Oregon is a historical big game choker

Indiana should win the natty but Oregon, Miami, and UGA are capable of beating them. But I’m not betting against the Hoosiers this year.

Nope, we’ve hyped up Heupel so much, these bozos want to give him a lifetime contract as long as he can get us at least 7 wins a year.

It is extremely difficult to be a team twice in the same season

- Oregon beat OSU in the regular season last year and then OSU won in the playoffs.
- Bama beat Georgia in the regular season then Georgia beat Bama in the SEC championship.
- OU beat Bama at Bama then a few weeks later Bama beat OU at OU.
While I agree with the first aspect, there's something to be said of a difference, though, between a rematch between two teams "that played a close game that came down to the end and now have to play each other again" and a rematch between two teams "that played and if not for an errant pass returned for a TD the home team would have been held to 3 total points the entire second half".

Again though, we'll see. Indiana's defense held Oregon's offense to 64 total yards of offense, 1 FG, and 2 interceptions in the second half in Eugene.

That's your goalpost move?

Also not true; you're cherry picking games but the actual stats don't back this up.

It blows my mind that Indiana was 3-9 in 2023, then 11-2 one year later and now 14-0 with wins over Oregon and Ohio State and completely embarrassed Alabama. How does a coach turn around a program so quickly?
$$$, look at how many of these guys came from the portal.
Not taking anything away from his evaluation or coaching, but this is a much more talented team than I realized.

It's also not true. It's a repeated claim based on cherry picked results but the reality is the team that won the first game wins the second game about 55% of the time.

That is what this new era of nil is going to be like . The teams that can shop right and coach players up are going to be the ones winning championships. The days of relying on top recruiting classes are over. at best you are going to have those guys 2 years and or pay alot to keep them. Any player worth their salt are going to throw themselves into the portal and test their worth after a great season. Its the mini NFL.

DeBoer is gonna have to make massive changes to this coaching staff starting this weekend. You don't get to end the year like this and start the season with all your buddies on the payroll.

The GIFs would be in the millions by now.

If UT would have tried to hire a Subelt coach the fan base would have lost their minds.
