Its time to pull the trigger.

That's not what I asked
It's all about Pruitt! If you where the AD, would you have given Pruitt and extension? Be truthful.
If Fulmer has been great doing everything else besides hiring Pruitt then it would be considered doing a good job. If so he should be allowed to replace his mistake. If he had screwed up everything else he should be fired.

From the time David Cutcliffe left his staff, when Phil coached here, until today, he has never hired a football coach that has been successful at Tennessee.

So Mullen is rumored for an NFL job, yet as recent as 4 months ago we had posters saying they would rather have Pruitt than Mullen. Our fans......not exactly a beacon of wisdom

Here is why:

I would like to know what Fulmer has done wrong excluding anything about Pruitt
The problem with your question is in modern athletics (college, high school, etc.), football is king. The AD could be absolutely stellar in every other aspect of their job save football. But if they get football wrong on a consistent basis, then how they perform in other parts of the their athletic department don’t matter.

For Fulmer it’s no different. He can do a fantastic to decent job for every other sport, but if he botches the football realm, he’s gone. So your question, although I see what you’re trying to ask and it’s a great question, doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things.

He did give Holly an extension while she was just bad as a HC great recruiter but not much to show for it. I just think PF thinks back to when he was a coach an thinks extension will keep recruits no matter how bad the team direction. That's bad thing about a former HC as an AD , they have to much empathy with HC's. Clouds decision making.

We would have to hire before FL is open in order to get in front of them. See Mullen when we hired Pruitt.

Offer Meyer NFL money then. Wouldn’t matter but I would at least make the call.
Dad -
If we did make the offer and as I expect be ignored or turned down, would you be one of those that would say "well, as usual we will have to take what's left over"?

Yeah I am sure you were one who had the foresight of Mullen 🙄🙄
Did you not think Mullen was a better coach than Pruitt back when we were looking? If you take away team bias that seemed pretty obvious. I’ll agree Mullen was no guarantee and still isn’t but he is guaranteed to be a better coach than Pruitt based on what we’ve seen from both.
