Its over [hiring pause]

What kind of sanctions do you legitimately think will be imposed on the program?
I think most likely a bowl ban next year and possibly a handful of scholarships?
Although we don't have all the details.
Hopefully the same one LSU basketball received.

I personally believe that they wouldnt offer Pruitt the extension if they couldn't pay it when things went south.

The amount of money we are talking about here is chump change in the world of college football.

Auburn payed a decent coach over 20 mil to just "go away". Pruitt wasn't making that much in the grand scheme of college coaching.

UT can and will pay what it has to because its not that much for them and the boosters.

Exactly. I tell people all the time that just do some simple math. If UT charged $50 for every ticket to a home game (and they charge more than that's $5,122,750 they make every game. That's before parking, concessions, donations and other game day funds. 6 games per year and that's $30mil. And that's before licensing, tv deals and the real money makers. So UT has plenty of money to make a change if it's the right change. Sadly I'm not sure they would have even come close to selling out the stadium in 2020 and if Pruitt remains after this mess, everyone knows 2021 will resemble Dooley's last year and Jones' last year and I think it could truly be the worst season in the history of Tennessee football. Which is sad because from a talent standpoint they should be able to win most games and at least compete with the top teams.

Hiring Freeze lol. If they fire Pruitt they are not hiring Freeze. Not with UT having the NCAA breathing down their necks. Feels like Fulmer as intern for 2021.
I’ve seen this quit a bit lately about if the NCAA is breathing down our necks we won’t touch Freeze. That would
Just mean they will be watching Tennessee and Freeze closely. And should honestly. Plus Freeze is being watched anyways, right? So why would it matter if he’s being watched here or somewhere else?

I'll give a beat writer their next headlines:

Exactly.

The idiot has been putting terrible teams on the field and now bringing the NCAA down on us.

Not sure what else it will take to end this disaster.

Maybe Pruitt trying to set the stadium on fire or kicking Smokey?
I wouldn’t trust Pruitt with a box of matches, around a stove or any electrical outlets.

This is my point. Everyone here was so worried about Kiffin getting us in NCAA recruiting violations...and USC hired him away with all their problems at the time.
Kiffin ain’t Freeze obviously....but USC was way deeper in the $#!T than we are...they weren’t worried about it. If you’re gonna stay in line then you’re gonna stay in line. Baggage or no baggage.
Does that mean they wouldn’t hire Freeze because of this? No. There is a better chance of them not hiring Freeze simply because he would win here....hiring losers is the only consistent thing the powers that be have done here since Hamilton didn’t hire Bryan Kelly or Gary Patterson instead of Kiffin.
The safest hire is Gus Malzahn....but he has sucked against Georgia only having beat them twice since 2013...although most of those games were close.
