Not opposed to Maurer. I like what he brings to the table, skill set wise. We definitely need something different though.i Would rather see Maurer. He’s quick and has been around longer. I want to see him get a real shot. if it doesn’t work it’s easy to move on to HB. On the other hand, if you start HB and it goes wrong we could have a bigger mess.
I also see him transferring if he doesn’t become the starter. He had a rough time this past year and may feel like he needs a fresh start.
Ask LSU (favored over Auburn, just as we were over K-Y) just who has the hottest burning dumpster fire right now. Their next game is Alabama. Ours is Arkansas. Let's strap it up and play some football
The difference between us and LSU though is that they lost a generational talent at QB, and 8 other starters from their team, along with their defensive coordinator, and the passing game coordinator who was largely responsible for their 2019 offensive game plan.
What's our excuse?
Plenty of freshman come in and start without having spring practice. Neither Schaffer nor Ainge were here for the spring before their first seasons. Nix at Auburn didn't arrive until summer. Lawrence didn't have a spring before his first seasonDefinitely not Defending JG I'm as ready for Bailey as anybody. But I also get Bailey isn't ready because of Covid canceling Spring practice and Bailey having to sit through all of fall camp because of contact tracing. That's not on the coaches. If Bailey doesn't take the job off this bye week I'll be more disappointed in the staff. 2 weeks should be enough to get him ready to start against Arkansas
He actually did practice in preseason. He had a bad first practice and Pruitt declared he couldn't waste any time on him. It's well documentedBecause our Early Enrollee was unable to practice until 2 or 3 weeks ago while UF's Backup HS QB (who has been starting there for 2 years) and UGA's walk on got to practice
I don’t know if I agree with the last paragraph, but I completely agree that it’s impossible to make sense of this season for the most part. The only teams that seem to be having the most success so far are the ones with all around great talent led by VERY GOOD VETERAN QBs . The other teams that are undefeated play a weak schedule in non P5 conferences. This whole season is crazy. Miss st beats LSU and some Think we missed on Leach. They have been terrible since. Ole Miss looks great against Bama. Some say we need Kiffin but they are 2-4. Schiano wins at Michigan St and I saw people think we missed there only to see them lose to Indiana. UNC was top ten and lost to FSU and Virginia. LSU can’t win and Cincinnati is considered top 10. How can Jim harbaugh have Stanford rolling then take the 49ers deep into the playoffs but can’t win any game that counts at Michigan. Clemson is still ranked #1 but I can’t see how they would have a chance to stop Bamas offense.
this whole season has been a Dumpster fire for a lot of teams and I believe coaching is a part of it but I also put a ton of it on the players. i Think a lot of the players put more energy into protesting and also partying instead of preparing themselve.

They just beat the No. 5 team, albeit NC was overrated. We are in the same shape as they are right now
I don't think we really know what team we are right now. How bout we wait til we see post-break version before we decide?[/
Did you watch the Arky/A&M game? Did you see them quit when they got behind and the game was out of reach? How many times have we quit during a game this year? I have no idea what team will show up but the past is a good indicator of future performance or behavior. Hope they get it together and smoke some pig!
