except lsu and vandy and bama who tried to go for "herd immunity" are suffering for playing by the rules. this season doesn't count, imo. you damn sure can't understand pruitt's complex defense without a lot of reps. doubt we see a full season play out if we're just half-way through now.Stop it. You know the answer. Only the Vols had to deal with COVID 19. Everyone else had full springs and fall practice to get their QB ready. And disregard the fact that a walk-on QB at GA plays lights out compared to UT’s 4 star 5th year senior playing his 4th year at QB. It’s not because the GA QB benefits from better coaching or that JG sucks.
Never said JP had to be fired. I just said big changes. Whether that is a new starting QB, New QB coach whatever, or giving Chaney full control of the offensive decisions. The status quo isn't working. TN is not void of talent.Genuinely asking; why do things "have" to change? Pruitt's job is safe no matter what, and he doesn't really have to answer to anyone other than Fulmer, who just made him untouchable with the extension. So why do things "have" to change?
It’s not an S/C issue. It is an execution, discipline and recruiting problem. The first two is directly related to coaching. We are in a catch-22 regarding recruiting. You have to play better and win games to improve recruiting but it is harder to win with inferior talent.
Well that's a bold statement.. False, but bold none the less....I have to disagree. Every problem we have can be directly tied to S&C. No pass rush, allowing too many sacks, no receiver separation, missed tackles, RBs going down easily. S&C is the common denominator across all of those position groups. No way are all of our coaches teaching poor technique. We have recruited better than Kentucky. They were much more physical than we were.
Everyone was high on the S/C program last year and the previous S/C assistant is now in charge now from my understanding. I assume they made few changes from S/C conditioning in one year to make a difference unless it was neglected because of Covid.I have to disagree. Every problem we have can be directly tied to S&C. How do you get to the Gators and you didn't start in high school and you end up starting? Who played ahead of Trask in highschool?Calm down Big O; common sense need not apply in the forums. Funny Kyle Trask came in for Florida after Franks went down, having never started a high school game, and now look at the kid.
No 0-5 is a dumpster fire. 2-3 is just mediocre. We won 1 we were supposed to win, lost 2 we were supposed to lose, and went 1-1 in the toss-up games. We were middle of the pack coming into the season and will most likely end up middle of the pack in the end. With an all SEC schedule, 7-3 was always our ceiling (with some luck) and 4-6 was always going to be our floor this season.
Bingo!!! On top of that, there are 8 SEC teams with the same or worse record as us so is 75% of the league a dumpster fire?? 5 out of 14 teams has a winning record right now. By the end of the year bama, uga, & fla will most likely be the only teams to get to 8 wins. The other 11 teams will all have to fight for 5-7 wins. This ^^^^^^
We have been in worse shape before. Remember Butches last year???

Classic example of things not to say when interviewed by the media...Heard that a reporter asked one of the tight ends about their coach Osevet. He said something about how the coach is learning how to coach the position from the players. Just a small sample size of what could be going on inside this program.
Fans must have low expectations. Evidence of dumpster fire:
1. Coaching leaving after < 1 year on job
2. Losing to Vanderbilt and KY in same year
3. Losing 8 games for the first time in program history
4. Losing to GA State
5. Losing to BYU
6. Losing to KY by the worst margin (and at home no less) since before WWII
7. Three (yes three) coaching searches where we were at the bottom of the barrel because no real coach wanted the job. (Dooley, Jones, Pruitt)
8. Four (yes four) different ADs during this time
9. One AD being called back while out searching for a coach
10. Offering HC jobs, then retracting them (supposedly twice)
If that is not a dumpster fire, do not know what is. And those are low expectations...not even going to mention a National Championship, SEC Championship, winning the SEC East, a Jan 1 bowl game, etc.....
