Is this program a dumpster fire right now?

No. Just plain, no. However, we gave a QB that isn't capable of winning. We have no clear identity as a team. We also have no break out players. They came in as high rated players but don't seem to translate at the college level. Statistically, they all can't be bad. So it's something in the culture/coaching.

7 losing seasons over the past 12 seasons.

6 of the past 12 seasons Tennessee won 5 or fewer games.

Tennessee has had zero 10 win or better seasons over the past 12......and only 2 (of the 12) which were better than 8 win.

Over those 12 seasons Tennessee has lost 36 games by 20 or more points.

yet......it’s the fans that are the dumpster fire......some people simply do not live in reality.

For the program to be a dumpster fire, you have to first have a program. From what I'm seeing, that first step seems to be missing.

My comment was not to say that our program isn’t a dumpster fire as well. It also doesn’t take much time reading message boards to realize that we are also a dumpster fire as a fan base at times. Just being honest as someone who is part of that dumpster fire but willing to admit it.

This fan base has stood by this program for more than a decade of terrible seasons, terrible losses, and debacle after debacle. This fan base keeps showing up, they keep watching, they keep buying......all while their favorite team gets blown out 3 weeks in a row........after the 12 years of crap.

Some people still stand behind this coach .....some do not stand behind the coach and express that; however “how” is the “fan base” the dumpster fire?

This fan base is crazy good. They stand behind a failing coach....just because they have hope. They want said failing coach fired because they think he sucks.......yet each side keeps coming back......because their fandom is strong.

While their team is a dumpster fire........they are far.......FAR from it.

Never said JP had to be fired. I just said big changes. Whether that is a new starting QB, New QB coach whatever, or giving Chaney full control of the offensive decisions. The status quo isn't working. TN is not void of talent.

I wasn't actually talking about coaches getting fired. I was asking why he has to change anything at all? His job is safe and there is nothing short of him shooting Randy Boyd that will get him fired

Everyone was high on the S/C program last year and the previous S/C assistant is now in charge now from my understanding. I assume they made few changes from S/C conditioning in one year to make a difference unless it was neglected because of Covid.

We promoted an assistant with Butch Jones and the same thing happened. This is the number one reason I am surprised that there is so much pushback on this point. We saw the same thing happen with our most recent former coach. There is a lot more to being a S&C coach than people think. I do not think it is our only problem however.

That all said, after last night, I am over all of it.
