The Pruitt extension isn't that hard to figure out. You're either keeping a football coach under contract for 4+ years or you're getting rid of him.
You might as well give up. You've got a full fledged lynch mob out there, empowered by the internet. No way they'll allow Tennessee football to succeed.
Some of us noted Chryst provided a spark In the Alabama game two years ago. I don’t believe this fan base has ever thought JG was a good Qb except for about a half dozen JG fanatics who for some strange reason have disappeared from VN the last few weeks. There’s been something going on for quite some time now. The first time my eyebrow raised was 2018 Alabama game. JG was looking horrible and Pruitt refused to try another qb until JG got hurt despite being blown out. Christ came in and threw 2 tds within minutes. Yet the fan base chose to believe Pruitt that JG was the better qb even though Christ put an egg on Pruitts face that day.
Fast forward to 2019. JG looks so bad to begin the season that a change was warranted by halftime of week 1 vs GAST. Yet the fan base chose to believe Pruitt that JG was the best qb. Then came BYU and the same held true. Instead of using UT Chatt as a prep game for a younger qb with a higher upside, Pruitt chose to use it to build JGs confidence while giving the others just a fraction of PT and misusing their skill sets to boot. Because let’s not forget..... “JG gives us the best chance” but here comes UF and the gauntlet of the schedule. Once again JG looks like JG and only THEN did Pruitt make a change. Why then? Why vs UF? Did JG not look the same in previous weeks? I’ll tell you why. Because the UF, UGA and Bama defense would stand a better chance of making a true freshman look worse than JG than GAST, BYU and UT Chatt, thus making HIM “appear” to be right all along. Only it didn’t happen the way he AND any of us expected. Maurer was MUCH better than advertised and his success continued until he got injured and had to take time to heal. When he came back he was understandably rusty but Pruitt used that as an EXCUSE to bench him rather than allowing him to “settle in”. That move alone, regardless of how JG played, was proof positive that PRUITT didn’t and doesn’t WANT to move on from JG and he was in waiting for a reason to justify switching back to JG.
Two different qbs in two years has proven better than JG (Maybe 3 now if Baileys garbage time is true to his skills of a full game) and Pruitts comments are still consistent with what he’s always said that “JG is the best we have”.
What’s more alarming is now that people are starting to catch on to his BS, most only seem to remember what’s happening “now” while not realizing we’re three years into this lie.
Christ was better because he threw the ball on time. Maurer was better for several reasons as well. Bailey appears to be better in short sample and NONE of the three were given even a fraction of the chance Pruitt is continuing to show JG. I feel like the only only question left unanswered is “why?”.
My entire point is, if we stop thinking in the “here and “now”, we’d understand that Pruitt is FOS. He can’t possibly be that incompetent in qb evaluation. What we KNOW is there is one qb on this roster that has already proven better than JG and Bailey could easily be the second if he could get extended PT to find out for sure. Some of us noted Chryst provided a spark In the Alabama game two years ago. Oh for f sake!!!
No way WE will allow TN football to succeed???
Did WE send JG out there to throw a 100 yard pick 6???
Dr Dre from yo mtv raps says "come on son!!!!"
I agree Pruitt is FOS. I thought JT was a darkhouse to be the best Qb on the team. He failed because according to Pruitt he did not send a receiver in motion on his one pass attempt and interception. If that is true then JT botched his chance. Maurer looked very shaky and not ready when he played earlier this year. That leaves Bailey who has been decent in his appearances in relief. That Bailey is the only decent Qb in are team does not surprise me when you compare their HS credentials. My entire point is, if we stop thinking in the “here and “now”, we’d understand that Pruitt is FOS. I see everyone is clamoring for Bailey and I get it. But IMO we shouldn’t lose sight of what Maurer was able to do. He held the starting spot for a month in spite of his HCs wishes because he was consistent, infectious and much more talented than Pruitt wanted anyone to know. At this point, if Pruitt truly wanted this team to succeed then Maurer and Bailey should be 1 and 2 from this point forward.
That the majority of us don’t have the money/influence to see? It just feels like there is something going on here that doesn’t meet the eye for those of us who aren’t connected. Is there booster/AD conflict? Is there state government/UT administration conflict. Is there school administration/ AD conflict. ESPN published a tell all article this week that details the situations that caused FSUs dramatic slide. It makes me wonder what’s going on behind the scenes thats gotten us to this point.
It is time to call for Pruitts head over the Qb issue. Plus his in game coaching decisions are terrible,Yes, JG is a mess, but IMO it's not quite time to call for Pruitt's head. He's going to be here next year. This is a strange yr anyway and it's not time for a final judgement on Pruitt. I saw significant improvement in the way the team played Auburn. The offense was significantly better. The defense played good enough to win, not great but good enough. All this lynch mob crap is going to do is run recruits off. Pruitt does not appear to have lost the team; according to Trey Smith, they are still with him. I didn't know Dr. Dre was a football coach. I'm not his son, he's young enough to be my grandson. I've been following Tennessee since my Dad listened to them on the radio in the late 40's. And yes, a fan lynch mob can prevent a team from succeeding.
I’m sorry but nobody should want to be Alabama... sure we have misguided priorities, but they are on the opposite extreme and are an embarrassment to everyone around the country... No I don’t want to be Alabama... I want to beat the SH@T out of Alabama....School wants to be Vandy and not Alabama and is on a woke mission.
Football is not the priority at all anymore.

That’s understandable but hear me out. I assume you’re talking about Arkansas because the only other time we seen him was vs Alabama. Maurer was thrown in there after Arkansas had already adjusted to a 35/5 run pass ratio. He was facing a 0 blitz because of the play calling to that point and had only seen 1 series of action since last year on top of being admittedly (by Pruitt) neglected from a preparation standpoint. How he looked given the circumstances changes nothing. In fact it should be understandable. Plus, We all know he’s NEVER looked good coming off the bench so why would we expect him to change when nothing has changed in management? In that same game Bailey came in in the final minutes when the game was decided and Arkansas was playing prevent. He was facing 3 rushers. So naturally he would look more poised than Maurer with 8 in the box, everybody coming and obviously no passing game was installed in the plan that week. I have a hard time blaming him knowing what he’s facing on a daily basis.I agree Pruitt is FOS. I thought JT was a darkhouse to be the best Qb on the team.
