Is there something going on in Knoxville

That the majority of us don’t have the money/influence to see? It just feels like there is something going on here that doesn’t meet the eye for those of us who aren’t connected. Is there booster/AD conflict? Is there state government/UT administration conflict. Is there school administration/ AD conflict. ESPN published a tell all article this week that details the situations that caused FSUs dramatic slide. It makes me wonder what’s going on behind the scenes thats gotten us to this point.
Saban agents. Think about it. When Bama has dominated, UT has been down. When UT dominated, Bama was irrelevant. Keeping UT down is key to Bama remaining dominant.

I know it too. The all caps reeks of stupidity and desperation to be seen as "right." Nobody likes you or thinks your smart "Doug," do us all a favor an stop posting because you're making us less intelligent every day
Love to have a Vol Trivial pursuit with you!

So Hamilton caved for Kiffins buyout, and then played hardball with Cut over buying out a WR coach’s contract?? Is this pretty close to being right?

Hamilton didn't want Cut here and playing hardball over assistants was his way of accomplishing that while being able to tell the money people that wanted Cut "Hey, I tried..."

Shrout was the backup by default entering the season because Maurer missed nearly all of camp with a hamstring and Bailey was out for three different stints for contact tracing and completed two padded practices.
Yes, I read that the last few weeks. I’m not sure how that relates to the points in my post?

Also I asked your opinion earlier tonight on Fulmer being able to make suggestions or provide advice on player personnel decisions. Do you think that is a possibility or does it never happen?

And you know this based on what? 4 attempts vs UK where he was 1/4 with a near int? Or because he looked good checking down to a wide open RB vs a prevent defense? Or last night when Auburn hadn’t prepared to play vs him?

Seems to me UGA knew who they were facing last year. So did Miss St and Bama and none of them stopped him. So saying “Bailey is better” is a bit premature given the fact he hasn’t been given an opportunity to prove it just yet.
You make some good points at times but unfortunately they get lost when you constantly turn it into Maurer, Maurer, Maurer, Ra, Ra, Raaaaa......

Based on the fact he actually looks calm in the pocket and delivered great throws to the TE’s even when Auburn blitzed the A gap, which they did, Maurer looks like a freaked out tweaker getting blitzed.

We probably shouldn’t mention the word tweaker in a sentence about someone from Ocala. That’s a little too close to home.

Then you would fail as a college athletics director.

You can be mad at the extensions if you want to be, that's your right. But don't act like Tennessee is in a unique position here. There's not an AD in the country that wouldn't have extended Pruitt back in the spring. No AD lets a guy go into a season with two years left on his contract. It just doesn't happen in major college athletics.

The Kiffin example is moot because no one in UT's upper administration that was here in 2008 when that deal was done is still employed here. Regardless, Kiffin's agent insisted on the low buyout and indicated it was a dealbreaker.

I would fail?????

Cause your past 4 ADs have done such a bang up job huh that the program is now a joke and broke.

Man. You ARE part of the problem.

No AD? There are tons of schools that dont do this.

Sexton literally owns you all and your brainwashed!!!!

The agent told you it was a deal breaker then walk away. Instead the AD got owned and the coach left in the middle of the night

Yall just suck at contracts. Just own it.

Well I’m sure Doug will just log on out of here permanently since you asked him to.

I’ll be here when you gone. Was here 25 years before you could spell Vols.
First off, you won't be. Your age and diet means you'll be gone way sooner than I will. Also, I'm pretty sure you can't spell Vols without looking it up. Nobody that can post the astoundingly stupid things you do, can spell Vols without some help. Seriously, name one player that got denied here for academics that went to another SEC school? I'll wait while you vigorously google it, but come up with nothing.

This isn't baseball free agency. Coaches get their contracts extended when they get down to 3-4 years left on their deals. It happens everywhere because that's what the market is and it has to happen for recruiting.

No it doesnt. Not at this point. This why our school is a laughing stock. Not every damn school gives an extension. That's a lie Gavol..

You can certainly argue about the state of football over the last six weeks, but he didn't receive the extension in the last six weeks. He got it in March, and signed it in May.
And while you can argue if Fulmer deserved the extension (especially a few months into the Covid mess), not announcing it at the time it was signed raises a lot of questions to me. I can't speak to when (if ever) a UT athletic director received a significant extension that wasn't publicly known for 6 months but it doesn't feel right to me.

You don’t know my age or diet! Update your Prozac dosage to help deal with your anger and hate!
Cannot stand Awful House either.

This isn’t a “Ra Ra”. I’m saying he shouldn’t be forgotten about if Pruitt truly wants to improve this program. We all know he doesn’t and JG will start. But Maurer and Bailey both have the capability to make Pruitt look completely incompetent somewhere else if/when it comes to that.

You ever do something really stupid, and not tell anyone for fear of embarassment?

Yeah, that's what Fulmer's extension was for the university.

Didn't see that post, but Fulmer isn't getting involved with those things. Coach Dickey never got involved with those decisions when Fulmer was coach and I don't think he believes it's appropriate for him to get involved now.

I know that Fulmer and Pruitt (and other staff members) have had long football talks over the last three years. Guys like John Chavis, Steve Caldwell and Dan Brooks have all been around the building at different times to be sounding boards for the staff. The resources are there and are being used, but Fulmer isn't going to step in and tell Pruitt how to run his program because the championship coach that mentored him didn't do it to him.

This I can agree with. Maurer is honestly missing poise. The kid is Uber athletic, but that’s what separates Bailey from Maurer at the moment. He is calm and keeps his head regardless of the chaos.
