Iran

Evidently it is touchy subject or there wouldn’t be 780 pages in a thread with differing opinions about it.
And no I’ve never felt threatened by Iran or Iranians.
What happened to complaints about people only caring about themselves and not about others. Iranian citizens and Iranian American citizens matter whether you think they should or not.
You said the Muslim Hitler wants to kill you and am Americans yet you don't feel threatened? How is war a touchy subject of that's true?

The job of the US is not to invade every country where citizens are being treated unfairly. Let's worry about our own house

Yes. “Death to America”. I can not like it and want him gone without feeling directly threatened, while realizing the threat to others.
I do agree worry about our own house. Just didnt ever hear those words prior to Trump as we worried much more about supporting illegal immigrants than our own house.

Markets finally figuring out Trump just lies and lies and lies and lies.

Oil up 10% today.

Sorry my fellow Americans suffering this fool.

Come November, MAGA and its goon squad of unrepentant morons will get the boot.

“He’s now been saying a version of the same thing for the last two weeks,” said Gregory Brew, a senior analyst on Iran and the energy sector at political risk firm Eurasia Group. “But what he’s talking about doesn’t matter, because he’s continuing the war and the Iranians aren’t buying it.”

After Trump again claimed Wednesday that Iran was seeking a ceasefire, oil markets exhausted by days of head fakes barely reacted. And that night, Trump’s insistence that the war was “nearly complete” was quickly overshadowed by his vow to intensify the US’ bombing campaign and then leave it to other countries to try to reopen the strait.

Oil prices have since surged more than 11% in response — a sharp move likely to push the cost of gas beyond the $4-per-gallon level and deepen the affordability concerns that threaten to cost Trump and Republicans control of Congress come November.

Within the energy industry, officials are now preparing for several more months of elevated oil and gas prices regardless of how and when Trump eventually decides to withdraw from the war, as the damage to global stockpiles becomes irreversible and reverberates across continents

Actually it was the other way around, his inner circle was pushing to continue and it was Hirohito that wanted the war to end immediately
Hirohito's capitulation was contingent on retaining his crown. He's on record as stating he would have allowed the war to continue without that guarantee. His PM, Hideki Tojo, was about the only member of the cabinet wanting to continue the fight with the U.S. The other war ministers accepted defeat was inevitable. They wanted a conditional surrender where they kept Manchuria. They held no notion of retaining much of anything else.
Is that why the German Army was surrendering in mass during the spring of 1945?
The battle of Berlin would have made Stalingrad look like a minor skirmish had most the Wehrmacht and half the SS not folded. Even Himmler tried to cut a deal when he realized how far the Allies were willing to go.

You and @McDad are correct. Total war works for the winning side. Unfortunately at the cost of civilian casualties, the winning side has to demonstrated their willingness to follow through.

Death to America basically just means F America. It has no real meaning besides propaganda. There is no real threat and there definitely was no imminent threat

In the future it would be better if you didn't correct my error in public. Makes me look bad.

Don't do it privately either.

TIA.

See hog? That's how it should be done.

Thanks MV77.

More of this in response to my posts, errybody!

If you’re going to fight a war it’s better to fight a total war, commit to the brutality necessary to win.

Iranian citizens don't seem to matter much to our leaders, given the way we keep blowing up schools, bridges and other civilian infrastructure and keep threatening to blow up their power and water sources and send them "back to the Stone Age"

Some of us hoped the GOP had reformed since the Neocons were run out of the Party in disgrace. Nope. They are back in power (now under the guise of Zionists) and back to doing what they do best, bringing death, destruction and destablization to the World. And they will be routed in coming elections, as they were in 2008 and 2012.

We need a viable third Party in the worst way.
I completely agree with your last statement - we need a third party in the worst way.

Or at least do a good job at it

Probably does want more money for military and defense. Having billions more available would’ve been nice had Dems going unchecked not bilked all of us, including you, of billions for bs spent on much less important stuff like muppet shows and circumcisions in Africa or Learing centers in Minnesota, which you and your peers conventiently ignore.

Our DoD has no idea how to handle 800B a year. Until they can figure that out, there's no chance in hell they need almost double that....

Once they properly account for trillions of assets, find the hundreds of billions they have no clue where they are at, develop internal controls, financial controls, pass an audit, etc., they dont need to ask for a penny. The DoD' handling of $$$ makes Enron look like a model citizen.

The DOD can't pass and audit and has billions missing. They make the Dems look like rank amateurs when it comes to waste and financial incompetence
