I never said the Nazis made up the word Iran. It was already a word in Farsi and the original name of "old Persia." They were certainly were not trying to distance themselves from their ancient past, they partly wanted identify with it. The West called them Persia, the Greeks first.I am sure it had absolutely nothing to do with trying to distance themselves from the failures of the old Persian monarchies and moving to a different system. I am sure the Nazis just pulled "Iran" out of their racist butts, and had no clue the area was called Iran before it was known as Persia. The locals, who wanted the name change, always called the AREA Iran even if the country was known globally as Persia.
not saying they weren't aligned with the Nazis, but yall aren't looking at everything. its not a term the Nazis created.
It was the Nazis who suggested the go back to Iran. For along time both names were recognized as official by Iran.
