He is a fool if he thinks that Israel acting won't lead Iran to respond against not only Israel, but Israel's allies. He is a moron if he doesn't think US interests can be threatened even if the US mainland remains safe.

There may be reasons to criticize what we are doing right now, but saying that the US wouldn't be threated by Iran if Israel attacked is idiocy. Heck, Iran is bombing other middle eastern countries! They sure aren't going to not try to kill Americans, whether we joined Israel or not.

Honestly it doesn't sound all that different from here. Well at least the subreddits I lurk in.

Pretty feisty over there tonight with recent reporting on Hegseth and some military commanders going full Evangelical "this is a holy war/end times" in readiness meetings. That's all anybody is talking about at the moment. Oh and running out of interceptors.

Yeah, 2 entirely different scenarios. North Korea is driven by a single authoritarian with nothing to motivate his masses. Iran, with their Shiite brand of hardline Islam has millions of fanatics who would die for the opportunity to destroy Israel. The hope is that their are enough children and grandchildren of the Shah’s reign to foster the younger generation’s hunger for freedom like they had under the Shah. Pictures of Iran pre-revolution are amazing. They truly had a paradise with oil money flowing to the people, not to fanatical death squads.

Iran is made up of like 70m Shia Muslims, and I'm not sure assassinating a religious leader during Ramadan is a great way to gain support, but I could be wrong.
