Iran

I've been called both an insane liberal and a "Nick Fuentes type" in this thread just because I'm sick of all the crap.

I feel like the average age here is in the 50s. It's clear these people haven't talked to anyone younger than 35, since they keep calling me "extreme". What brand of "extreme", I'll never know.

Extremely rad, maybe.
Butch coming hard with my monthly reminder that it is time to call my son. Thanks, Butch.

Oh, and "bite me" for bashing me for being old. ;)

Kudos to Rubio for telling it like it is. I’m impressed that he would come out and say it. If accurate, I can buy that explanation as to why we acted when we did if it was inevitable that Israel was making a move. Self protection is a big motivator.

Again if true, why couldn’t Trump or Hegseth have come out and said that? I guess it wouldn’t have met their need for self-aggrandizement and ego stroking.
Agreed. If this is true, it would still seem a sketch reason to go to war, except that Iran has proven them right by threatening all their neighbors.

The Administration might have backed into doing the right thing. I just hope, as I did for Gaza, that it ends as quickly and bloodlessly as it can for all the innocents caught in the conflict, wherever they may be.

The Iranian regime 1) has had the material (and presumably the motive) to make a dirty bomb and 2) would be crazy enough (due to their zealotry) to use one, and yet 3) to date they never have? It seems to me implausible that all three of these things can be true simultaneously.
I may be wrong, but I believe that they did not reach that enrichment level till late 2024 and that is part of what launched the strikes in 2025. You have to also consider that an outlier group could at some point get their hand on it (one of their sponsored terrorist groups) and explode a dirty Bomb.

Yea I guess they're unaware of what the young conservative men 30ish and under believe. I'm a little above that bracket but my brothers aren't. Their friends aren't. And none of them want to die in the desert for a Holy War we have nothing to do with.

And they are all very very anti Israel. I know I'll get the usuals yelling at me but that's just true. If Israel and ME don't blow us all up and cause Armageddon I'm hoping the future generations rule how they currently believe. Anti intervention and pro American. That's quite honestly all I care about anymore. If it doesn't benefit Americans I don't want any damn thing to do with it.

My guess is that leadership and infrastructure were always the targets - a matter of when rather than if. Intel revealed a golden opportunity and Israel said they were taking it so we went along sooner than planned.

I said it in the Charlie Kirk thread when he died… older people are going to be very surprised by the views of young people on the right

That is what I think as well.

I think Trump had given them 10 days or so on the negotiations, and late in the timeline the Iranian leadership decided to get together to strategize how they were going to decentralize their control so they could still run the country when they gave us the finger, and Israel said, "Here is our chance, we may never get it again!"

The Iranians, thinking they had 48 hours, met, and when Israel said "Let's Roll," the US decided to go ahead and start knocking off all the sites we knew would hit the "ICE" 3 ring binders that all had the same strategy for the Iranian commanders: "In case of Israeli attack, bomb everyone." And here we are.

Becoming more and more impressed with Rubio. Pretty much the only person in this administration that I respect. Seems to have at least a semblance of a brain.

First sentence makes a lot of sense. You don't care about the truth. Can't argue with someone who outright doesn't care about the truth.

This is what we're dealing with these days. These mental wet noodles need to just move to Israel.

I have zero interest in sacrificing young Americans and everyone's tax dollars for some manifested fictitious war in Heaven taking place in the asshoIe of the earth.

We’re seeing a real right wing emerging for th first time since Bill Buckley effectively defeated it in the 1950’s. What took over was “conservatism” which was utterly annihilated over the last 50+ years. They lost every major institution- media, the administrative state, education and entertainment. Conservatives are the right flank of the progressive left and the youth are rebelling against it.
