Iran nuclear program. It is a lie

Maybe Freak needs to hold racial sensitivity seminars, lol.

The study does no such thing of mentioning whether or not Iranians have a trace of descendancy from ancient Persians. It was only demonstrating the influence of Arabs and Indians in the genes. But this itself doesn’t negate the Persian lineage.

I may have to start calling you Rex.

From the study.

*******
According to its findings, natives of Iran have a strange genetic composition.

Typically, an Iranian native’s genetic composition is 56 percent Arabian , 4 percent Eastern Africa, 2 percent Northern Africa, 4 percent Central Asia, 6 percent Asia Minor and 2 percent from Southern Europe and Southern Asia each

***********

Again history and alleged culture is Irrelevant to the discussion on wheather or not Iran should or shouldn’t have nukes.

This is the same study you linked?

Let me give another example.

The old city in Israel is in Palestinians controlled territory. Recently archeologists have found the ruins of Solomon’s temple there. (Not on the Temple Mount) there is a large group of Jews that want the temple rebuilt.

In my opinion.....just because the Temple once stood there doesn’t mean the people there now should have to get out of the way. Fortunately the Jews who want the Temple are smart enough not to make this a political mess. Instead they are buying the property as it becomes available.

That of course won’t stop people from accusing them of stealing it but that’s a separate issue

Persie.
You are totally missing the point.
That’s probably more my fault than yours. The point is people change over time and claims of ancient culture have no place in this discussion.
Yes it’s from the academic journal I linked.

Lol
There is no attack.
Ras made a false claim of heritage while saying the opposing people were wiping their ass with sand 2 generations ago. that has no place in a foreign policy discussion. 2 generations ago is irrelevant to where we are now. 4000 years is stupid.

It is not a false claim, and you admitted as much with your response. I clear stated those people had 4000 years of rich culture, then you followed up by pointing out the differing influences that have been in the region. But, unlike the Native Americans here, they were not wiped out or exterminated.

DNA says they’re not the same people and you have no idea if the people of Persian were wiped out at some point in history. We have large chunks in history where we just don’t know what happened. It’s called the dark ages for a reason.

Again claiming culture is irrelevant to how Iran should be treated now.

Trump continues to tweet about Iran (and saying they hadn't been in compliance which goes against the conclusions reached by Mattis and Tillerson). It looks like he is insecure about a decision when he does this. If you're so confident that you did the right thing, why do you still feel the need to sell it and talk about it so much?

What else is he going to Tweet about with as much winning as he has lately?

BB, you getting a bit lonely without a Trump tweet to go on about lately?

LOL! He has cut back... Maybe Melania's "Be Best" campaign has changed his heart? :birgits_giggle:

...but not lonely! Taking my mom to PF Chang's (her fave place) in an hour. Have a good Mom day, GV.

Just when I thought it couldn't get crazier... did they really pay the Iranians back in cash? As in pallets of cash?

Cool.
You may have noticed I like reading up on history of peoples..... beliefs......ect.
Zoroastrians are an interesting group. With ties to Judaism. It appears just after the Jews were captive in Babylon. The time when the book of Daniel was written. So some debate can be had as to who influenced who. Also the story of the wisemen in the NT are often misrepresented as Kings where a more likely identity is Zoroastrian priesthood. Which leads to the question why would they be there at the birth of Messiah? Maybe following up on one of their prophecies. Either handed down by their founder? Or .....maybe from Daniel? Yes I know, wrong thread.

I just find it interesting

I have read this before. That the 3 wise men were really mystics

I understand why one would assume that. But I think people are over estimating the amount of inbreeding that goes on when empires conquer each other. When the Persians took took over the Middle East during Cyrus the Greats campaign, there were still other ethnicities within the empire outside of the Persian people. When Cyrus’s son conquered Egypt, it’s not like the people of Egypt became Persian by any means, but they were under the dominion of the Persian empire. When Alexander took the Persian empire, Hellenistic culture influenced the region until it ultimately crumbled and was overrun by the second Persian Empire (Parthians). But during this Hellenistic period I don’t recall of any mass migration of Greeks to Iran to account for any dramatic change in Persian genes. Fast forward until the last Persian Empire (Sassanids) fell to the Arab Caliphates, the region was influenced by Islam. But while Islam did influence the country, they were still ethnically different than Arabs genetically and culturally. Keep in mind that there have been Persian Empires for almost a thousand years accumulatively, with a brief stint of Hellenistic rule. Prior to the Arab invasion, the Persians had a solid foundation of civilization and culture that wouldn’t be severely altered or wiped out.

The Arabs did influence the region, primarily with their language and religion, and I’m sure some Arabs migrated to Iran (although I don’t believe this to be as extreme to where slice thinks it is). But simply being under the dominion of another culture doesn’t mean that your culture automatically transforms, especially when your culture has been established for centuries like Persian culture has. I don’t deny the fact that Persian culture has been influenced over the last two thousand years, but the persian people in general never lost their culture completely or were genetically replaced by another ethnicity for Persians to completely lose their lineage.

It's really cool that you know this much of your lineage. I am never criticizing you or anyone else's heritage with my posts, so please don't think that. We dont control our genes or our looks, and I give nobody any credit for either...even hot chicks, like my wife, if all she could do was stand around and look hot ahe would be nearly worthless.

Fwiw, I am a mutt for sure. My dad's grandfather was 100% full blooded Cherokee Indian, so i guess I am an 8th? Other than that my aunt who likes to do geneologies traces us back to both England and Germany in the 16 and 1700s...so I am a mutt. You can tell the injun in me though, I have darker skin than most of my amigos in summertime, and can't grow a decent beard at 41, I shave every other day (thank God) no big burly beards in my family. I have always been fascinated by the Indians, able to make lethal bows and arrows, blades, etc and live off the land. Beautiful cultural decorations and jewelry also. Maybe because of what i come from I have always had a special interest there, movies like dances with wolves etc are some of my favorites. Native Americans got the shaft about as bad as anyone in history, we stole the entire country from them and pretty much put them on prison camps, after we actually did put them in prison camps or just outright execute them men, women, and children, and we settled west...40 acres and a mule my arse. Like Chris rock said, he has seen a polar bear ride a tricycle, but he has never seen a family of Indians at pizza hut...there's a sad truth there. If you didn't grow up near a reservation, you have likely never seen a real NA...the only ones I have ever seen are lumbee Indians from Lumberton, NC...because they come off their land and work construction projects. Drinking, fighting, group of dudes I have ever seen. Like giving steroids to a platoon of marines for a month before a keg party. Very hard workers though, with absolutely zero fear of heights or respect for safety. They refuse to the off or wear safety gear, so u would imagine they are out of work these days.

Any way, cool stuff there. I will read more about it. Thanks

Do you think they’d ever release the names? Even if it is true I don’t think “they” would ever release the information. Wouldn’t want to damage our reputation.......so the status quo is maintained

I actually do think the Iranians would release the names. If they were promised something in a bargain and someone doesn’t hold up their end of the deal they’d be the ones to seek revenge imo.
