If Tennessee chooses state law over NIL pledge, it risks being kicked out of SEC

So you're still comparing apples to oranges for melodramatic effect? You're mildly entertaining, I gotta hand that to you.
Name a single NFL NIL deal that either the league or the NFLPA interfered with. If you can't, it's an admission that you are FOS.

I'll pop some popcorn and wait.

It's clear your reading comprehension is lacking, bub. Do you really believe athletes are in the same position as pre-1865 slaves in the United States? That's the absurdly bombastic comparison you were making, to which I responded.

Try and focus on the words (hell, sound them out nice and slow if you must) and not your emotions, but don't choke on a kernel in the process.

It clear that your ability to discern is absent.
There are many parallels between slavery and the old NCAA model.

Slaves - predominately people if color.
CFB athletes - predominately POC.

Slaves - did not get paid fair market valsue.
CFB players - did not get paid fair market value.

Slave owners - got rich off of slave labor.
College coaches - got rich off of athlete labor.

Slaves - restricted freedoms especially of movement.
CFB athletes - restricted freedom of movement.

There are plenty of other common themes. Those are factual..you just don't like having it pointed out.

There you go again with your favorite tear-off from your "Word of the Day" calendar.

Astute observation...but completely unrelated.

Slaves - did not get paid fair market valsue.
CFB players - did not get paid fair market value.

Slaves were generally not paid, and that was (woefully, wrongfully so) "the market" at that time. They had no options, and were forced to work. The same conditions did not and do not exist in the case of college athletes. They are not forced to take a snap or an at-bat.

Slave owners - got rich off of slave labor.
College coaches - got rich off of athlete labor.

Apples to oranges, man. Slaves were forced to work. No one (to my knowledge) ever forced a college athletes to play a sport.

Slaves - restricted freedoms especially of movement.
CFB athletes - restricted freedom of movement.

Aaaand, once again - apples to oranges. Slaves were held captive against their wills, for the most part. College athletes have had and still have choice in that regard.

There are plenty of other common themes. Those are factual..you just don't like having it pointed out.

"Common themes"...riiight. When's that next boatload of athletes landing in Charleston after being taken against their will and sold out of Africa, then? Folks might take you more seriously if you'd lay off the utterly absurd hyperbole and misguided melodrama as a substitute for making a point, but as it stands...you're a solely source of entertainment (and I thank you for that).

You're just sensitive and in denial of the obvious facts.

Sensitive? Nah. Like I said, this is entertaining. Besides, I'm not the one leaning hard on hyperbole and melodrama to try and make my points. That'd be you.

I could see your point if you were drawing links between, say, a 'company town' type of scenario and the past arrangements concerning college athletes. That could actually logically make sense and hold some water (figuratively speaking). Problem is, due to whatever impediments within or outside your control, you're stuck playing with a Spirograph while believing you're painting the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.

Nop, you're just in denial.

Obviously I struck a nerve with you because you keep in trying to deny the obvious, factual comparisons. It's appalling

That would make sense, if indeed the comparisons you've made were grounded in fact and not the hyperbolic and distorted view of the past and present to which you so desperately cling. Absurdity is your security blanket, and ignorance is your pablum.

It is apparent you're either cognitively impaired, or willfully ignorant. I'm guessing the latter, but I can't rule out effects of a sudden descent and subsequent impact of your cranium on a hard surface during your infant years. Whatever the case, keep on providing the free entertainment, and be sure to keep a bottle of Dramamine handy for that weak stomach of yours!

Your denial is bogus. Your fantasies are lying to you. So is your Dunning-Kruger Effect.

It is apparent that you're butthurt by having your appalling I need to support things that exploit other people.

You need to keep a feather pillow handy for that chronic butthurt you have.

Let me know if you ever graduate from kindergarten. I may even send a card. Probably not, but maybe.

It is apparent that you can't back up your B.S. claims. I challenged you to cite a single NIL deal that either the NFL or the NFLPA has interfered with. Crickets from you. We both know why. There aren't any.

Again...you must have intended to respond to another poster, you dunce. Go back and read, and you'll see I have no dog in the fight in terms of the NIL/NFLPA...if you're able, learn some reading comprehension (again, take your time and sound out the words slowly if it helps your exceedingly smooth brain absorb the information).

What in blazes are you even attempting to communicate here? The only thing even remotely appalling is your butchering of the English language. In this circus, you're the clown in the center ring. In that regard, you're the star of the show!

You're simply FOS. You're lashing out because you're embarrassed about having your appalling love for exploiting others pointed out. You really are deep into the Dunning-Kruger Effect, too. It's pathetic.

If you want to see a clown, stare into a mirror.

And you STLL are rucking my challenge to come up with a single example of any NFL player's NIL deals that either the league or the NFLPA has interfered with. Again, we both know it's because there are none and your claim is B.S.

How brave of you...were, well, we both know it's the opposite of that.

Now go Google the Dunning-Kruger Effect so you'll have a clue what it is. Pfft.

you are on crack dude.. I find this extended strawman argument extremely offensive. Here ill do the same riduculous comparison.

Whales breathe air
So do humans

Whales have blood
So do humans

Some whales have teeth
So do some humans

whales have complex cardiovascular systems
much like humans

Certain whales were openly hunted and persecuted and sold for profit
So were humans

this all skips over the main point.

You must have read that book how to lie with numbers at some point and took it to heart. Thats an extremely braindead way of comparing things to try to force a point.

Bothering to even argue this one is sad and making concessions....even worse. One could argue that these big sports leagues do have a plantation mentality and use a lot of similar tactics. If one wanted to waste time arguing. It s true but not the point. Change it, no need to argue it. All the comparisons do is get people inflamed and stuck in the argument itself. Just fix it.

The whole system is inherently illegal but it's just been accepted up till this point because we let ourselves get caught up in all the tangents. Its not legal period... full stop..
The thing about laws is that someone has to report and enforce. There are lots of illegal practices in play in most businesses daily. Most times unknowingly. Those things become common practice and until someone reports and enforces, they stay as they are. RIght now UT is Doc Holiday and being college sports' huckleberry. It is very on point for the Volunteer State to do so. We have been on the side of right in such things for a long time since the Alamo.

Third time, despite your demonstrated inability to grasp basic written English: I made no claim regarding the relationship between the NFLPA, and NIL deals. I don't care one way or the other about it. I'd invite you to read back (as difficult as it may be for you) and find the post that someone else made over which you're frothing. It is evident that you responded to me, (erroneously) thinking that was someone else.

You seem to have a penchant for falsely attributing or misassociating words and ideas to others, which although it has some comedic value for the rest of us, ultimately inspires some pity as well. The only person being "exploited" at this point is you, for free entertainment. Thank you, this has been like a free ticket to the circus.

Yep, I don't have a dog in the fight regarding NIL. It's legally accepted, etc.

I have an insurmountably hard time taking anyone who, with a straight face, makes a comparison between chattel slavery and any compensated occupation/gig/career in which a person chooses to participate in this modern day and time. The former involved no choice or agency, and the latter does. The point could certainly be made that the old structure of college athlete compensation was akin to a company town scenario in terms of "labor" practices, though.

Wrong again. It's your inability to grasp words containing multiple sya kes, and your lame attempt to conflate two entirely different things.

And you're STILL ducking my challenge to find a single example of any NFL players or coach having a NIL deal interfered with.

Your credibility meter is pegged in zero.

Help me out here: in your native tongue, whatever it may be...what is/are "sya kes"?

As far as conflating "two entirely different things" is concerned...I believe you're arguing with a mirror at this point given the fact you were conflating the concept and history of chattel slavery with the compensation of college athletes.

I've not responded to your oft-repeated inane "challenge" (which you originally made to someone else). I see no need to do so, mainly because I don't give a tinker's damn what you're on about. It wasn't my contention you railed and frothed against to begin with, and it isn't now. Go find a cloud at which to yell. At least then it'd be an even match for you then...against an expansive volume of air and water vapor.

So you're not intelligent enough to grasp the concept of autocorrect errors? Duh.

Horrible.

You can't get around the fact that the old NCAA system and slavery were both built on exploiting people who didn't have power, by the powerful, for profit.

Anyone with two brain cells to rub together should be able to understand that.

Your denial is šŸ‚šŸ’©.

Somehow, he'd have done a better job of making a point had he opened with this:
