NY6 Bowl Matchups as of today:

Fiesta (CFP) - #1 Ohio St vs. #4 Wisconsin (who doesn't want to see a threepeat?)
Peach (CFP ) - #2 LSU vs. #3 Clemson

Rose (Big 10 vs. Pac 12) - #7 Penn St vs. #12 Oregon
Orange (ACC vs. SEC/Big 10/Notre Dame) - #29 Virginia vs. #8 Notre Dame
Cotton (At-Large vs. At-Large) - #9 Memphis vs. #11 Alabama

The Rest of the SEC:

36. Texas A&M (7-5) - 121.8978
42. Tennessee (7-5) - 118.1466
50. Mississippi St (6-6) - 114.0541
56. Kentucky (7-5) - 111.0768
74. Missouri (6-6) - 99.1877
75. South Carolina (4-8) - 98.6943
88. Ole Miss (4-8) - 90.3726
119. Vanderbilt (3-9) - 62.3108
120. Arkansas (2-10) - 61.3792

The Bottom 10:

121. South Alabama (2-10) - 61.2187
122. New Mexico (2-10) - 58.7102
123. Rutgers (2-10) - 56.5263
124. Bowling Green (3-9) - 53.9139

129. Akron (0-12) - 16.3129
130. UMass (1-11) - 7.8844

I've done this formula going back to 2008. In the twelve years to which I've applied this data, 2019 UMass is officially the worst team, and by a considerable margin. They went 1-11, and lost by an adjusted average of 33 points per game against the 4th worst SOS in the country.

Current Champions of Life (Lineal Title): Oklahoma St

UT's OOC Opponents (for @FïreBall ):

47. Indiana (8-4) - 115.9824
67. UAB (9-4) - 104.1848 (if UAB had not played FAU this past weekend, they would have finished with the worst SOS in the country. As it is, they finished 3rd worst.)
72. Georgia St (7-5) - 101.0526

I usually start this after Week 4 every year. But, with several conferences still yet to kick off, it seemed useless to get going early. But this year, more than any other, will highlight the absurdity of math-based ranking systems. So I can't resist. I won't rank the entire country yet (because I can't) but here's the SEC thru Week 4.

1. Alabama (4-0) - 170.3217
2. Georgia (3-1) - 154.1875
3. Florida (2-1) - 124.3567
4. Texas A&M (3-1) - 121.1483 (Reigning Champions of Life)
5. Auburn (2-2) - 109.5175
6. Tennessee (2-2) - 99.9642
7. South Carolina (2-2) - 91.7533
8. Ole Miss (1-3) - 89.5867
9. Missouri (1-2) - 89.1233
10. Kentucky (2-2) - 88.7600
11. Arkansas (2-2) - 88.5275
12. Mississippi St (1-3) - 72.1550
13. LSU (1-2) - 43.0878
14. Vanderbilt (0-3) - 28.8700

I think that's mostly correct.

@bamawriter will you wait to do national rankings until the Big and PAC have played 4 games?

I would think the math would pretty different with the number of games played.

I'm going to wait for everyone to have played one game, and yes the math is going to be a cluster. But that's really the point, isn't it?

Of course we played or will play every team ahead of us.

In a lot of ways, I think that is a good representation of the talent levels on these teams as well. The top is separated from the rest (5-11) with a few bad teams (13-14 even though 13 probably would be ranked higher on talent than this shows).

One more week until every team will have kicked off (assuming no Covid cancelations).

Here's the SEC right now:

1. Alabama (6-0) - 171.7044
2. Georgia (4-1) - 154.1340
3. Florida (3-1) - 133.4492
