Was it a rumor when UK beat Tennessee using a WR as there QB. Was it Hyams that made up the blow out loses to the better teams in the league. Was it a rumor that Dooley kicked Chuck Smith to the curb to keep wilcox for year

Nothing wrong with that, but we've been reading it for weeks now. It's a well-known fact that there are people on VN who do not like Dooley and we know why they don't like Dooley. Having it rinsed and repeated is monotonous, to say the least. :peace:

you can't keep tearing the foundation of your house out and expect it to hold we need a solid foundation for a couple of years to build off of I'm not saying DD is the guy but he is at least in the mixing bucket of a good foundation

That WR/QB had nothing to do with beating us. Our defense held them to under 200 total yards of offense. We couldnt score is why we lost. And if I recall correctly, you was hoping Kentucky would win that game cause you thought it would be the end of Dooley.

I haven't seen the first post here today suggesting that we should embrace losing. That's just stupid and void of contextual understanding. It's all about perspective. This program was in the ditch as deep as it gets when Dooley took over. No one, and I mean no one, would have us competing at a relevant level yet. This is what happens when you keep an underachieving coach around too long and then hire a malcontent. Heck, I hate the current state of the program, but firing Dooley now would make it worse and the laughing stock of the entire country. We just finished a decade where our program was mediocre and lost national relevance. This thing started going dipping into the ditch in 2002 and has never fully recovered. We must try to stabilize the situation. Hey, if in two years Dooley hasn't shown significant improvement, we will be able to hire someone else, who LIKE FULMER, will walk into a loaded roster.

I don't know if Dooley is going to get it done, but I do know the best course of action RIGHT NOW is to give him a chance, considering he has done some pretty effective recruiting in just two years. WE have a lot of really good freshman and sophmore players. Heck, they've basically been our whole team the past two years.

see what you want and a lot of so called Vol fans want is a quick fix.....you can't start building a house and then half way through it you get impatient and just decide to bring in a trailer and say thats good enough.....what we need is is for Dooley to stay another 2 years and see how it works out with the team being all of his recruits and see how he does then if the team still isn't over the hump then we can discuss a new HC.....for example Michigan is playing with Rich Rodriguez's players but have a new coach that makes it look like he is a great coach but if they would have let rich stay for this season Michigan would most likely had the same results so I'm all for Dooley staying another 2-3 years because I believe in taking time to build a stable program and not becoming Ole Miss going through a new coach every 2 years
