I am really disappointed

see what you want and a lot of so called Vol fans want is a quick fix.....you can't start building a house and then half way through it you get impatient and just decide to bring in a trailer and say thats good enough.....what we need is is for Dooley to stay another 2 years and see how it works out with the team being all of his recruits and see how he does then if the team still isn't over the hump then we can discuss a new HC.....for example Michigan is playing with Rich Rodriguez's players but have a new coach that makes it look like he is a great coach but if they would have let rich stay for this season Michigan would most likely had the same results so I'm all for Dooley staying another 2-3 years because I believe in taking time to build a stable program and not becoming Ole Miss going through a new coach every 2 years

Word is, Rich Rod was never going to get a fair shot at Michigan.

They didn't like his style. Too blue collar for the white glove society

Great post!!! I have said the same thing on here several times myself. I bleed orange and I want to see the big T winning as much as anyone on here. But I figured out a long time ago that it is just a football game and it has no bearing at all on my life. It isn't going to make anything in my life different if Tennessee is winning, it isn't going to make anything different if they are losing. Everyone who is complaining on here needs to stf up. Give the man the time to do his job.

in our fans, especially the ones represented on this site

You guys dont know **** about coaching, what it takes to be a coach, or anything about hiring a coach, yet you give your opinions like someone should take you serious

Have you guys ever looked or read what you post?

If he doesn't hire_______ I am through with UT

I dont like_________ because he is fat or played for this team or that team

I dont want him if his name isn't_____________

We suck

We are done

Bama won another one, we suck

Get a hold of yourselves. Penis envy is for teenagers

Some of you are grown damn men crying and *****ing about the situation on the Hill

Do you friggin think we are all happy? Hell no!

But some of us are a little more stable and prefer not to cry on a public forum about how just damn depressing our lives are without UT winning. Its pretty damn pathetic that most of you want for nothing, yet you can't be happy unless you get everything you want

We are in a rebuilding stage. Rebuilding

You dont rebuild a team from the ground up in two years

No other team in recent history has to rebuild like UT has had to.

Not Bama, Not Florida, Not Florida State

I can friggin guarantee that the ones whining now will never be happy. UT will never win enough games, never hire the right coaches, never, ever do anything to make you guys happy. People like you live to ***** about crap, especially crap you can't control.

Nut up, or shut up

Go vols!!

You go boy!!! Good post!! Thanks I needed that!!!:hi::eek:k:

If you kept fulmer, you wouldnt be 18-20 the last 3 years.

But, you'd be no closer to an sec title

I disagree. All good coaches go through down times as did Fulmer. Look at B. Bowden, Joe Pa, Bear Bryant, etc. Fulmer had Tajh Boyd the quaterback at Clemson lined up to come to Tennessee. Fulmer made a mistake in hiring Dave Clawson which set him back. And last time I check Fulmer is the last coach since General Neyland to win a national championship at Tennessee. I would love to have him back any day of the week. Bring back Fulmer for 2013!

Not seeing how a post complaining about fans complaining is an improvement.

This is what Count does. He starts threads talking about people who speak their mind about the program that isn't positive are a bunch of whiners, though it seems that he mostly whines. It's quite a weird cycle.

But a post complaining about it does. Kudos on postception.

The man truly thinks Dooley is a genius.

Faced with the cognitive dissonance demonstrating the reality is, and this is being generous to a fault, somewhere between genius and imbecile, OP routinely blasts and blames fans for what has taken place with this program.

Some of us saw with clear eyes the difference between where Tennessee was at the beginning of 2011 and where it is now after the Kentucky debacle. OP wants to live in a Coleridge-inspired altered universe where Dooley will always be completely perfect and immune from fault or failure. Use your illusion by all means. Just don't request or demand the rest of us fall as far from reality as you have routinely done.

I can't believe 110 people liked this thread. Not saying I don't agree with the basic point of it, but I got a headache just trying to read it.

We're talking about fans on message boards. The craziest and most hardcore fans there are. Of course everything on here isn't going to be logical and fully thought out. Geez.

You might want to look at Brady Hoke's career before you spout off the Michigan nonsense.

You are correct in your perception, but...........
what is more helpful to our efforts? to whine, attack and berate our coaches at THIS MOMENT? or to support our efforts to recruit better talent right now?

The time to attack will come later if is warranted.

But if you dont b!%&$ and moan your not a real fan! I agree with all you said, thats why I have very few post. I have my own 13 year old kid that knows it all(thinks he does). Some people just b**** to be b*******. To top it all off they would b**** about not having anything to b**** about. Moaning changes nothing...if it did with just the fans on here we would have won the NC the last 10 years. GBO! VFL!

Whether you support what coach Dooley has done to this point or not, it's a little early for anyone to pass judgement. After the 2012 season, if the Vols don't show significant improvement, then it will be fair to be critical. Dave Hart was correct when he said " youth and inexperience will no longer be an excuse for not winning".
However, to be too critical of those raising questions of coach Dooley's performance this past season is unfair. The lack of effort at Kentucky was inexcusable. At times, he has been too critical of his players to the media and not willing to accept blame himself. I have been a Dooley supporter from the beginning and will be through the 2012 season as well, but, without noticable improvement this year, revaluation of the staff will be justified.

I have a relative who says this every time we lose a game,"somebody's gonna get fired over this". Unfortunately that's how lots of young people think. You guys want big name coaches and you don't realize that firing Fulmer damaged our chances to land a big name guy. They saw the unreal expectaions here and know that if we kick our guys out like that, we have no stability and sense of reality. Fulmer was our winningest coach with a new OC, coming off 9-4 and 10-4 seasons. I was at the Arkansas game in '07 when we beat them 34-13 and there were people bad mouthing Fulmer because we didn't beat them worse, wanting a new coach etc. In the middle of a 10-4 season! Get real folkes, GROW UP!

The NC State game will give hope I hope. I like Sunseri. Got that Phil look. Let's just move on and make the hire and see if the man can get it done.

Monte Kiffin is a Hall of Fame DC. Ed Orgeron is one of the best DL coaches in the business. Frank Wilson is one of the most highly sought after assistants in the country. Eddie Gran is one of the best RB coaches in the country. Kippy Brown and Charlie Baggett are considered two of the best WR coaches around.

Do you see what I'm getting at? Good coaches will come to Knoxville.

2012 regular season 6-6 at worst, 9-3 at best

so that makes 8 wins very possible with 7 wins and a bowl W or 8 wins and a bowl L

that's about as positive as i can view things right now
