I am really disappointed

So you mean theres people out there that actually doubt Derek Dooley? :yikes:

There's people out there that still support him? Lol he said in his press conference this program is in much better shape than what he found it in 22the months ago LMAO! Gtfo we have reached all time lows under this clown

This is not the time to be negative. We need to stand behind this program , or GET OUT! It's easy to be positive & happy in the good times , but real fans are there for support even in the bad.

Good post:good!: May make too much sense for some on this board though.

whoo dooley is the man,we might win 5 or 6 games next year,he really has going in the right direction,if we can beat KY this year and get another over time win int. on vandy we got a chance at a bowl....................It is a joke u all support this man,he is a epic fail,If we want football back, like the days of the 90s we need to big time hire...

I am not raging but its an honest performance assessment. Dooley had a horrible year regardless of injuries or lack of depth. Failures in personell and situational decisions didn't help either. It seems to me he cannot run an SEC team efficiently. And I mean the entire program. Who have we hired to fill in our DC spot? We promoted Hinshaw to receivers? I bet Croom and Bowles were excited about that hire.

No DC wants this spot on his resume and its obvious. We need to get it over with and fire Dooley now before we hire a sub par DC and get one, maybe 2 SEC wins next year. Tired of mediocrity. How in the HELL did it take our staff 10 games (Vandy) to use the Tiny package. Fail.

Open the checkbook Hart.

I certainly haven't heard any of this before. If people are going to bash Dooley, at least come up with something new to say.

I keep reading this statement mocked on here. From the transcript, here is exactly what he said:

All three of those guys (Eric Russell, Peter Sirmon and Justin Wilcox) came from the Pacific Northwest, so it was a chance for them to get back home. I understand it and I really appreciate the work they gave us the last two years. They put their heart and soul in this program and the program is significantly better today than it was when we all came here 22 months ago. Those guys played a big part of it.
Is the program in better shape today than it was on the mattress burning night when the Kiffins, who came into town, told about half of Fulmer's players and recruits to hit the road, leaving the shelves half empty, recruited a bunch of players that saw more time in pellet gun hold-ups, jail and local bars than on the playing field, then one year later flew the coop and threw the whole program and most of the recruiting class in the dumpster on their way out? Most definitely. Is Dooley trying to compare the team now with the glory teams of the 90s by this statement? Absolutely not.

At least let's be honest.

How about let's not let it out, and you keep it in. These threads are getting so old at this point. Dooley is not going anywhere, and I challenge any coach in the SEC to lose his top 5 players for long stretches during the season, including QB, and your best WR, and see who doesn't have a drop off or struggle against top teams. Yes, the UK loss was horrible, but would you rather lose to them in a year when you suck, or get upset by them in a year that you are winning. In the scheme of life, being 6-6 or 5-7 really doesn't mean sh*t.

On the DC hire: Good grief, he is doing what he should, taking his time and trying to make the best hire for the team. A bunch of you act like teenage girls at every stupid rumor that comes out, with no idea if it's even true or not.

You know nothing about the situation!!!!!!!! If Croom was so concerned why did he cancel his visit to OSU?????? How do you know that there is a full list of coaches that want the DC job and they are filtering thru the canidates??????????? I think you FAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm Chuck Norris and I approve this message. .

No seriously though. I have been saying the same thing. All the Dool-Aid drinkers just say it will hurt more to replace him now.

I think we get rid of him now, bring in a good coach to salvage what talent we have left for this next season and make something happen instead of seeing DD go 6-6 with this schedule we have.

Why wait and be humiliated anymore? Its better to start now rather than later. The longer we stay like this, the deeper the cut and bigger the scar

No one wants to coach under him. Muxh less a great DC that's getting booted with him next yr

Recruits want to be coached by proven winners and chances to play for titles. Sadly UT has nothing to offer. The ones that do come only come because they wont get PT on the better teams.

I like DD but we need to let the man go. I believe Hart said he would keep him longer though. Maybe he will see he can't put a staff together and wake up. UT was once an attractive job and respected team. Now after LK and DD no one wants anything to do with this place

Edited, to add:

Actually, I like Dooley and hope he can be successful here. I haven't given up on him yet. Next year will tell the tale.
