I am really disappointed

Six stars and only 205 posts? You all constipated bro. You need to get in here and vent more often. Let it all out, squeal and shout. You will live longer if you don’t keep it all bottled up like that.

Do you think there is anything of significance that he has been here 6 years and only has 205 posts...Long time to stay bottled up and must have done so for a reason.....

With all the crap that has gone on in 6 years I find it amazing that anyone would keep a tight lip after reading what I have seen on this board in my 5 years...

Is there one thing that Derek Dooley can do without looking like an idiot?
His practices are an embarrassment with the way he allows certain players to talk to coaches. His game plans are an embarrassment, only made worse by the manner in which his team executes it.
His ability to build a quality coaching staff is an embarrassment, like how he handled Chuck Smith and Lance Thompson just to make room for Wilcox’s buddy, even though, both had one foot out the door.
His treatment of former Vols is an embarrassment, like how they are not allowed to be at any football facilities without his advanced approval. If Al Wilson wants to come on campus and talk to current players, it should not have to be planned in Dooley’s day-timer.
The only thing that he has not been a total failure at is recruiting and that well is finally running dry. He tells recruits to look elsewhere why everyone else is de-committing. The recruits he wants are finally seeing through this closing arguments of BS and are getting out of dodge.
Everyone keeps drinking the Dool-Aid and says we have to keep him in order to save this recruiting class and build stability. BS, we are losing players right and left and are looking foolish doing it. We cannot even higher a quality DC.
There is nothing that Dooley has done here that can even be viewed as a positive. If it looks like a dog and barks likes a dog, and smells like a dog, it isn’t a cat. Dooley is an idiot that must be removed as HC. We are not going down the right path and the longer we allow it, the farther we get off-course.
I LOVE Tennessee and bleed ORANGE but I cannot bring myself to believe that UT does not have the strength and resources to right this ship immediately. Please Mr. Hart, it is time. RIGHT THE SHIP.

I love these threads. You find out there are some really funny, clever people on VN. These threads make me laugh. Most the other threads result in me crying after I read them. So keep on keeping on.

I'm sure it is only because he doesn't read fast and types even slower.

i agree with some of what you say and some i don't. i will agree though in my opinion which means nothing the only way to right the ship is by dooley leaving. i personally think he is a below average coach.

Ok, I am very sorry if I have offended fans that do not share my opinion of Derek Dooley. I do have one question, I have made several post on this website that was not flattering to Derek Dooley. Each time, I have been told to find a new team or go away and never come back, because I was hurting the program by spreading my opinion.

My question you the people that have told me this, is where is the venom for Dooley? I have made several posts, yes, but at the end of the day, the true reach of my so called venom is minimum. While the reach of my so called ignorance has been minimum, the level of undeniable failure that Derek Dooley has reached has had a wide ranging and all encompassing reach upon the Tennessee program. His failure to accomplish the simplest of tasks as a head coach has brought embarrassment to this program and has left us sputtering in an ocean if of despair. His inability to build a quality coaching staff, the constant mistakes in recruiting, the preparation leading up to the game, and finally the finished product.

While it is always easier to throw your arrows at Phil Fulmer, Lane Kiffin, Mike Hamilton, or anyone who you disagree with, the main point is that the ship must be righted. We are past the point of blame and are now nearing the point of no return. Every program in the history of Football has various points in its history that directed the program either toward the top of the mountain or directly to the valley below. Some of these teams have never returned. This is one of those moments and I fear that the longer we try to hold onto this level of stability, we move farther to the valley below to remain forever. I am not blaming Derek Dooley for his failures; he did not inherit the best of situations. I am simply pointing out that everything Derek Dooley has done since his arrival has given no sign of him being capable of leading this team back toward the top of the mountain.

This situation requires a qualified coach to right this ship, we cannot simply allow the town drunk to be the mayor because no one else wants it. We must go back and make the position something no one can resist. That means money, money, money. Nick Saban has been at Bama for 5 seasons and has won two titles. Are we any worse than Bama was when he arrived. We have the facilities and the budget; we need the right man for the job.

Please don’t question my love for this program, I simply want what’s best for the program, and I do not feel Derek Dooley is it.

You people are crazy if you think the OP is wrong. The top 25 for next year just came out and we were not invited. Good news is that things will change next December.

Been in a lot of game planning over my years as a football coach. Never once have we ever discussed the "what if player X gets hurt" plan. You do not go into a game thinking about your players getting hurt and not able to play. What you do is you hope that those two's and three's who only got minimal reps during the week will be good enough to come in and get the job done. It is apparent that the two's and three's UT had to play with alot this year where not good enough. But, can't you coach them up? Yes you can but coaching up only gets you so far if the player across from them is bigger and stronger and more experienced and coached up as well. Dooley haters are just going to be like that no matter what he does.
The problem with the DC search is that for some reason many on here feel a sense of entitlement. They think they are entitled to know each and every step of the process. Sorry, but this is not the case. The AD and the HC will hire who they are going to hire in the timeframe they have. Deal with it. Once the hire is announced, then you can either support that person or not, your choice, but you only hurt yourself with your negativity.
Once again it is those that think UT should just snap their fingers and Coach X will automatically jump to be our DC. It is a very good job for the right person. Who that person is, well only God, David Hart, and Derek Dooley know. I apologize for being long winded and I am sorry Coach Dooley has not called some of you to ask your opinion of who he should hire. I guess he forgot that your were a part of the staff.

Nicely written.

This thread is not worth the electrons necessary to keep it going. Your negative, mindless opinions are just hurting the Vols. You only love the Vols when everything is done or goes "your" way.

I too am looking for a higher form of DC to higher grasshopper. Dooley and Hart keep posting ads on Craigslist indicating that they are looking for a coach to higher but the resumes they are receiving are from people trying to get higher. Seems to be some form of disconnect.

You do realize that all of your points are based off of VN rumors and Jim Hyams reporting.

Your ICON reminds me of Alabama. Go be their fan. We don't need fans like you.

I thought the same thing the instant I saw it. Why would anyone who says they love the Orange have an avatar that says "The A Team" in that stupid red color. Heck, I don't even have any red in my closet. That Crayola didn't exist when my daughter was young enough to play with crayons.

By the way, it's "hire" not "higher" when you offer someone a job and they accept.
