Hyams notes on coaching searches

I watched Hyams on the Sports Source TV show Sunday and he was PO'd at the fans calling in to his radio show.
Well, I've got news for that turd, if he is upset that the fans want the best coach money will buy that is their right. I am tired of his constant nagging that Tennessee can't get a great coach from another power 5 school (or Gruden). He acts like he is the be all know all of TN football and he doesn't know anymore than I do about who the next coach is going to be.

Why would an employed P5 coach making P5 money want to leave his school for UT? This job is the definition of career suicide. ifs it a good job and a strong school that can be turned around? Yup. The problem is most fans will be expecting at least an SEC championship year 2 minimum and a Natty by year 3. The former is unrealistic, the latter plain nuts. Funny enough unrealistic and plain nuts seems to describe 90% of the vocal members of Vol Nation lately. Not all vols fans just the ones that make all the noise, stalk folks on twitter and call into shows.

I don't understand why the A&M job is just SOOO much more attractive than ours. Yes Texas is a big state to recruit in. However they still have to compete with Texas, they have to compete with Oklahoma, they have to compete with LSU, not to mention the cherry picking that the other SEC and Big 12 teams do in that state.

It's not. Most people who claim it is have never been to Texas or IF they have, have never been there more than a couple days at a time. 3/4s of the state hate th aggies and want no part of the school

Let Mullen rot in Starkville for all I care. The fact his former AD doesn't want him at UF should send alarms off everywhere else.

However they have some scary similarities.

And Tennessee just don't need better than Butch.

Tennessee needs a PROVEN WINNER! With no excuses on why they didn't win.

Schanio, Frost, Taggart, Norvell all have won big at programs that don't win.

If Les Miles or Gruden are out. These 4 WIN, they don't have crutches for why they loose

It's not absurd. His access is minimal based on the reports he puts out. He tries heard to stay relevant but he simply isn't anymore. This is a great example of him trusting marginal sources or his gut

Agree and based on all the discussion on this board - many can't even agree on who is good and who isn't. Currie is doomed.

Hyams is either a smokescreen for the UT administration or a UT hater. With Currie taking a vacation to the Bahamas with his family to watch basketball, that tells me everything we need to know. The coach is a done deal, period!

What's wrong with u? Kiffin clearly let it be known Tn is not a destination job and Tn needs a stable coach who wants to be here
