Hyams notes on coaching searches

Please let the Hyams jokes pass on by...

Hyams source gave him these notes

-Mullen likes A&M
-Jimbo also likes A&M
-Mullen a great coach, labeled a "weird duck" was widely disliked by people at UF
- Shiano would jump on the UT job, would be a bad fit, very unlikeable
-Fuente does not like to move around
-Frost likely to Nebraska, if not Nebraska may stay put
-No way Patterson leaves
-Gundy not as happy as years past, but wife loves it there

UT search very cloudy with no clear frontrunner.

Kelly? Odd he’d leave one of the hottest names in coaching off entirely.

It speaks volumes that UF hasn't reached out to him this time or last.

Apparently there's a strong dislike for him down there

it's not really a secret....Foley wasn't a fan of him personally, and Dan's wife was not itching to get back to gainesville. feeling was mutual.

he did interview for the Miami job twice, and didn't get it.

it's not really uncommon knowledge that he's an acquired taste, personality wise.

I think me and Foley would get along good.

so... are you Hyams? you are the only person on earth(probably including his family) that consistently defends that name......

How is making an accurate statement defending him? If you're looking for someone to tell you what you want to hear, there's this moron running around the airport tracking a Phillips and Jordan plane.

Don't feel like you have to read anything about Hyams.

To be clear, Jimmy has a source he says he knows people. Jimmy just went down a list and said "what have you heard about these coaches" and these were the answers he got.

Only thing that sounded fairly concrete about UT is that Fuente and Patterson are unlikely to go anywhere.

He didn't say Schiano was even on the list, he just asked the source would he take the job.

He wasn't negative, he wasn't positive he simply said he has a source that had info on various coaches associated with openings and here's some info on them.

If you are not 100% Gruden, youre negative. Period

-sincerely, volnation

Yes - Jeremy Foley apparently really does not like him. Scott Stricklin was Mullen's former boss, and if they don't even make overtures towards him, to say that says a lot would be an understatement. Foley retired but is still "AD Emeritus" and supposedly quite involved, so perhaps Mullen is not looked at once again.

Usually, personality pissing matches like that go both ways. Mullen might be a difficult guy, but if Foley can't stand him I bet Foley is a very difficult guy too. If Currie vets him and thinks he can deal with him, he might pull the trigger anyway despite the reputation..

Don't buy most of this and hope I am right or we will have Blake Anderson or Norvell and I honestly think if it gets there that they bring Fulmer out for a year with a CIW like Tee. Get the band back together, I don't care, but I'm not digging hiring a CUSA or Sun Belt coach.

I'd rather Marion Hobby or Kacy Rodgers, or Clawson who can flat out coach but still gets dissed by UT fans who don't care to explore the other 20 years of his resume outside of 2008.

I wouldn't be against giving Clawson a shot if we have to settle.
