I've been wondering if there's locker room dissent right now, with the defense getting frustrated with JG, and the O-line / offense sticking by him. It felt like we saw that on the field in the 2nd half of the Kentucky game. Defense didn't play as hard in the 2nd half. And honestly, it's tough to blame them. You go out there and play spectacular D and you still lose the game because of terrible QB play.

Seriously, the D gave up 0 points in the 1st Half and we trailed 17-7. They even got a turnover in Kentucky territory that should've been converted into a score. Should've been a 17-0 or 21-0 Tennessee type of game after that 1st half and instead we were down.

Maurer and Bailey are the first "true" Pruitt QBs. That's why it's so difficult to judge Pruitt based solely on poor QB play.

Shrout was technically recruited by Pruitt, but it was a special situation; that partial 2018 class where the 2 QBs recruited by Butch (Martinez and Penix) both left. We took a gamble on Shrout, who, for lack of a better term, was a bit of a "project" with some potentially high-upside. But he was never considered a blue-chip QB recruit and Pruitt wasn't going to get one at that point.

So the 2 Pruitt QBs: one is Sophomore who is injured right now (Maurer) and the other is a Freshman who didn't get a real offseason due to Covid (Bailey).

Interesting. But Henry T prob should keep from posting stuff like this to be honest

I think this is telling there is some locker room issues with players and coaches though

Either way, this isn’t something you expect to see in Year 3. It’s never a good sign when you have players openly upset on social media with coaching decisions. Seems like team chemistry and unity isn’t good right now. This is stuff you see in a year of someone getting potentially fired not taking the next step.

Henry T is part of the new wave that Pruitt brought in to flush out the holdovers. JG is a holdover from Butch and nothing more. Henry T was thrown to the wolves and held his own. Same should be for Bailey. I trust Chaney with Bailey. I don’t care if we run 70% of the play calls.

It is sad for him. But he was given many chances in many different scenarios and just doesn't seem to have it

Can't say that I blame him, it isn't all JG's fault but he has not played very well this year and it may give the rest of the team a spark to see him play. I doubt we will beat a team with a pulse but he can't play worse than three pick six's in two games

There is a difference between addressing an issue and taking a team issue public. I do not know HT’s intent with his post. If he is defying his head coach in a public domain by calling for a QB change, then I do not see that as leadership at all. Leadership would be leading a face-to-face discussion with the coaches.

I hate that this is what players are posting. That said, HT is a pretty likeable fellow....perhaps it is coming from a place of desperation, begging for change. It was obvious last week that this team doesn’t respond to JG as a leader. It seems like another sh!tshow in the locker room

The other side is what happens if Pruitt is correct and the games get out of hand very early, how do you handle the team. Not easy being the head man. Lots of people lives and futures are dependent on you. Much easier to make decisions in the stands. I do think the entire team will look better with a good QB.

Agree that HT msg is misunderstood. HT sent luck to HB and BM...he is not picking a starter. Pruitt has probably told the team both will get playing time on Saturday so HT is not stirring the pot just wishing his teammates well.

Yep.

Piss poor "leadership" from the top down.

Pruitt could have come out and just said it is an open competition moving forward.

Instead, he is double, tripling, and quadrupling down on a losing hand in Guarantano and it is stressing the whole team now.

Most vol fans have been saying this for the past three years. It is time to move on from jg. He has had his shot. Geez
