So is this the new thing now? It's not the almighty pearls fault he got fired it was cheeks? Come on man everyone in the country knew pearl should have been fired. That's not going to effect us getting a coach, what is going to effect us, is if Hart opens up the check book or not

Idk. His buyout isn't that big, and he's only making 1.2 million. I'm sure Minnesota will give him a raise, but IMO he would be worth a $2 million offer.

I admittingly don't know much about Minnesota's history in basketball, or their facilities. Obviously the big 10 is a great bball league, but would Tennesee be considered a step up, lateral move, or step down?

On quick research, we appear to be better historically, they haven't really done anything Tennessee hasn't. They also don't have a practice facility, and apparently facilities are out of date, but brand new project is in the works.

Wasn't Dooley's buyout around $5 million, plus over $1 million for Butch's buyout?

Martin's is around $1.6 million iirc, and Pitino's is $1.5 million iirc.

So half of what he was willing to do for football, no?

Everyone can bash Martin all they want, and most of it is certainly deserved. However, if you're saying we can miss the dance for a 3rd straight year, after making it 6 years in a row, and that coach will be retained....is that not an issue?

Why are there not more, fire Hart threads? Or, Hart is a pu$$y of an AD threads?

Wouldn't that make sense, as he is the one in charge of making these decisions? All these threads about what's wrong with this team, or why Martin doesn't yell, or whatever....why aren't there threads for what seems to really be the problem?

If Hart is fine with us missing the dance for a 3rd straight year, then I'm sorry, but there's much bigger problems than Zo's inability to pick up a T, or create proper spacing.

Completely agree. The way Hart handles the basketball situation will tell us everything we need to know about him. Does he man up or wimp out?

I wonder if Dooley were still coaching in front of a packed stadium, if Hart would have pulled the plug last year. Attendance was really bad for most of 2012.

Butch was not under contract when he was fired. The $1 mil was simply a gift. Pearl was pissed at that amount.

What most don't realize is Hart is not the AD. Cheek is our AD. Hart is his puppet.

Hart wanted to retain Dooley in lieu of paying the idiotic buy-out but the big money guys said hell no.

So who knows what Hart will do on a 1.5 mill buyout on gounzo???? He will probably keep him since big money may not care much about bball....

Its a damn shame really. CBP gave us a glimpse of what Natl Bball relevance was all about!!!!!! Good Lord, that was a fun 6 years!!!!! I mean awesome!!!!!!!

According to him they're pushing for Pearl, which if true means they care very much about basketball.

And I agree, I like basketball more than football, it was fun times.

Cheek eats boogers but hates CBP...CBP hates Cheek for good reason... CBP isn't coming back to UT unless it is with another team that will kick our arssses. How the hell Booger Eater still has a job at our Uni is unbelievable to me... How does a man who eats a booger on natl TV keep his job running our University is beyond me.
