So did Varys just take his ball and go home? One would think the Master of Whispers could have caught up to Lord Friendzone and Tyrion fairly easily...

He's supposed to be in kings landing but the show altered that plan. He actually does something surprising but I won't ruin it in case they decide to do something similar.

I think it would be awesome if it comes out that Varys planned something like this to happen so that Tyrion could earn Khaleesi's trust on his own without Varys there. After all, she was very wary of the Spyder and all. (I prefer that spelling for Varyis's nickname, maybe I'm weird or love puns.)

I think this is all a big game between Varys and Littlefinger, or possibly Varys and Little finger vs someone else but doing it each their own way. I think Varys has the good of the world in his mind and doesn't care to be in the background, but Littlefinger thinks HE is the good the world needs and wants to be at the front as much as possible. (and screw Sansa if possible since Kat is dead)

He leads an army north against the Bolton's and marries Sansa. He loves her. He better be getting the hell out of King's Landing. My opinion, of course.

Book spoilers

That epilogue is one of my favorite chapters in the series, but they're going to have to get Kevan a lot of airtime in the next two episodes for that to hit home with the audience. I think Varys either shows up there or is part of Doran's reveal. Either way I hope they don't have Littlefinger kill Kevan and Pycelle.

Littlefinger is owning the game; will be interesting to see how he eventually consolidates power after all his rivals kill each other.

Littlefinger is way too brilliant, cunning, and badass to win the game of thrones. something will undoubtedly backfire and he will get his comeuppances eventually.

Agreed. I'm curious on what they'll do with all of that if anything. Seems pivotal but who knows.

I don't know. If this GoT has shown any consistency in this show it's that the smart ones are the survivors.

Ned was brave, but not smart enough to know not to tell Cersei that he is aware Joffrey is Jamie's.

Robb was just plain stupid.

Drogo was the baddest man on the planet, but stupid.

Oberyn stood by the Mountain and ran his mouth, stupid.

Joffrey... stupid and a prick.

Meanwhile:

Tyrion should have died several times, outsmarted his way out.

98% of the country wants to kill Cersei, still alive

Littlefinger and Varys, defenseless and still alive.

Samwell, can't fight to save his life and still has outlived at least half of the Nights Watch.

The biggest exception here is Stannis. Stannis is an idiot and is somehow still alive.

Great post. I was lazy with my thoughts!

For some reason I think Stannis is going to die because of the Red Woman. I don't trust her at all.

Stannis gets burned at the stake when she takes Jon Snows side. Book it. And no there's nothing to support that other than the fires not truly showing Stannis as the ressurection.
