Of course: people in general can't get the definition of socialism right, so why do I even bother wondering about this stuff? Oh, yeah: because it beats replacing the toilet seat my daughter broke.

Heard this morning the armorer on Rust is 24 and this her second film ever. And no she wasn’t a part of the LA unions. On a western loaded with lots of firearm play.

Not saying a 24 year old can’t be highly skilled in firearms, especially if she was ex military. I am saying she is young and this was only her second film acting in an armorer role. I heard an audio clip of her she admitted she was somewhat intimidated by blank rounds. Say what?!

I still don’t see how she’s too stupid to differentiate a blank from a fully operational cartridge though. And based on all the info coming out on how the set crews had complained about safety I’m starting to wonder if this incident was sabotage.

Honestly, firearm safety is so simple that you shouldn't need much experience to get it right.

Yep. But here we are with somebody dead because somebody was given a “hot gun” instead of a “cold gun” and made the wrong assumption on how they should treat the firearm.

Protip: there’s only one kind of gun and only one way to treat them all. Yes I know you know that. It’s just obvious that actors are fundamentally stupid with regards to firearms and should avoid handling them at all costs. That’s my take.

Baldwin doesn’t get to plead ignorance and shift blame on this one. He’s a producer of the film so proper safety protocol on set is his wheelhouse. He’s also a very experienced actor who has been in multiple films handling firearms and has dealt firsthand with how firearms safety procedures are required to be implemented on a set.

If reports of what actually transpired on that set are true resulting in his shooting and killing someone then he knowingly and willfully ignored all on set required firearms safety rules and procedures and should face the legal ramifications of his actions.

I agree wholeheartedly.

Unfortunately, that's not how justice works in the US. He has money. He will skate.

This one may be to big to skate on with so much media coverage. It should be criminally negligent involuntary manslaughter and the fact that the union crew lodged complaints of unsafe firearms on the set and then walked off because of it might hold some weight.

Even oddball little lefties can grow up knowing about firearms. Her dad is a well known and well respected armorer in Hollywierd and although I haven’t seen any info on his involvement or not in her childhood you would think he may have passed weapons safety knowledge along if she spent any time at all in his home full of weapons.

I have to wonder if she’s getting the media/ Baldwin PR scapegoat treatment or if she truly deserves the finger pointing due to incompetence. I’ll wait for further info to come forward on that one. If it’s her screwup she needs to face the consequences but Baldwin still isn’t absolved in all this.
