I've seen it plenty of times. There are many problems, and guns are most definitely one of them.

Agreed one of mine is watching someone argue for less restriction from the government in one thread and more government restrictions in another , when both are talking about the saving a life . 👀

Again .. I’ve never seen it and I’ve been all over this country . I must be hanging out in the wrong hoods . There’s not even security guards here in Norfolk at the grocery stores . Lol

Did the law preventing hi-cap mags do it's job here or not? Did the mental health law here prevent the dude from purchasing or not? Did the laws against murder prevent him from murdering?

No it can't be determined quickly and easily, but you can make an evaluation pretty quickly and easily.
Kids are making threats and being evaluated on a daily basis.
Let's say you do an evaluation and determine that the kid shows several warning signs, what then?
If you evaluate 10 kids, you could rank them from least likely to most likely to follow through with their threats. Do you treat each of the 10 differently?

Nope. But they did stop Timmy.
And there are many rational and reasonable changes to the laws that could have greatly increased the chances of them working in this case.

If guns kill people, why not just make it legal for a bunch of good people arm themselves so they can kill the bad people when needed.

Maybe like that super cool 2A says.

The problem is two fold. First, the restrictions that do exist are replete with loopholes. They are window dressing, not intended to actually work. Second, there is no way to track who has stolen guns. This one wasn't but we do see that problem all the time.

We need solid, hard to evade, restrictions and we need to hold people accountable when their guns get stolen due to carelessness on their part.
