Greenland

Lol so we're pivoting away from "voting Republican is anti free stuff" to your delusions of the undocumented getting "muh taxpayer money"?
How’s that a pivot? Free stuff is free stuff. Able bodied Americans should be productive citizens.

That's not the point he's making. The point is that both parties are socialist. It just depends on which group you belong to whether you benefit from it.
I understand the point. My point is there are things on both sides that suck, the R side sucks wayyy less

Yeah? You think so? It was because of a Democrat and the New Deal that the Tennessee Valley wasn't destroyed during Hurricane Helene. That "socialist" program saved my community.
Compared to now? The green new deal? How’d that save you?

While I'm opposed to the way Trump is going about this Greenland folly, I do need to be reminded why we should GAF about Europe realizes?
Total goods and services exchanged between the EU and USA are around $1.5 trillion per year.

Mainly due to trade. I don't want a Europe that is closer to China.

Ok, you think Europe is going to stop trading with us?
Obviously they won't stop all trade, but I don't want a strengthened China due to European ties. Burning bridges with Europe makes Chinese influence stronger IMO.

For a good while now China has been Europe's #1 importer, they far outpace us in imports to the continent. If it weren't for our oil/gas exports to Europe we'd be barely a blip on their radar when it comes to buying. Europe continues to buy less American made goods while we have increased imports of European goods.

What point are you making exactly?

I see what you're saying and it's a valid point. I still don't think that gives us license to just burn bridges with them though. Increased issues with Europe will just drive them even further towards China. I wouldn't want to impact what trade we do have.

As long as Europe relies on our military might we should be a little more forceful in our dealings with them. Our taxes allow Europe to act like pompous asses.

With this latest example of self absorbed childish ridiculous behavior can we finally all admit the two party system has failed miserably and start to seriously consider a third party choice?
That won’t happen (not in a meaningful way, at least) until we replace our electoral system.
