You really need to eat a Snickers.Moot point. And wrong. The United States is *obligated* to defend Greenland from any invaders. If we break our commitment to NATO, then the world order is out the window. Our allies are no longer our allies.
Are we going to attack our own allies like Denmark? Jesus Christ. How arrogant and amazingly stupid that would be. And what for? You ready to send your children or grandchildren in harms way to potentially die for a war over Greenland? Really?
You really support that?
Russians, in particular, would be dancing in the streets.
Who's next in the merry fantasyland of King Trump... Panama? Canada? This kind of absurd rhetoric is obscene. All coming from the Orange Menace who promised you "no new wars".
If Trump were to actually follow through on his empty threats and take Greenland by force, we'd see IMMENSE blowback from not only every country that has been our ally, but also from within our own country. Vietnam protests wouldn't hold a candle to the wave of protests that would ensue.
But now you support open warfare against our own allies, huh?
And, oh BTW, the US is the only country to have ever used Article 5 of NATO following 9/11.

Trump Is Preparing a Major Deal on Greenland
The U.S. administration is developing a draft agreement with Greenland that could be offered directly to the island’s authorities, according to The Economist.
The proposal involves a Free Association Agreement — a framework in which the United States provides funding and guarantees improvements in living standards, while the partner hands over defense matters to Washington, retaining internal self-government.
The U.S. already operates under similar arrangements with Micronesia, the Marshall Islands, and Palau.
According to the magazine, Trump’s strategy has two main goals.
The first is to deepen divisions between Greenland and Denmark.
The second is to open direct negotiations with the island, bypassing Copenhagen.
They would be dumb not to take the offer. If NATO and Denmark are truly concerned about the defense of all NATO territory including Greenland then they would accept Trump's deal. Not accepting proves they have no real concern over Greenland...evidently Denmark just wants to own Greenland out of arrogance showing no true concern for the people of Greenland. Trump is willing to raise their standard of living something Denmark has not, will not do. And Greenland remains self-governing with the full defense of the US military. He's giving them an offer, they can't refuse... ask Maduro.![]()

I would go a step further and say if the deal is refused US leaves NATO and European countries defend themselves with their own money. And if Russia or China make any kind of move on Greenland then Greenland will for a fact become part of the US regardless of what Denmark says for Denmark really has no concern about US vital security interests. Cannot have Russia, China, Iran in the backyard of the US.
The Greenlanders should do a fact finding mission to those three places before deciding.NEXTA

That's a real spin. How does Denmark fall short in supporting Greenlanders' standard of living? Why should we spend money to support them while cutting quality of life programs domestically? They would be dumb not to take the offer. Does that mean Trump will be collecting Biden's $25m bounty he put on Maduro's head. I'm confused.Danish people are not Dutch.
And oppressive? We just abducted the President of Venezuela.
We are the oppressors of the world.
about 20% of Greenland is in poverty, Denmark spends a whopping $550,000 USD a year in Greenland. 500 million is nothing compared to the billions the left steals fraudulently. Cutting able-bodied people who can work from SNAP, cutting fraud from all these programs is not cutting quality of life. Quality of life is being cut from taxpayers who are paying for the fraud. That's a real spin. How does Denmark fall short in supporting Greenlanders' standard of living? Trump is for what is in the vital security interests of the US therefore the left must take a stand against what is in the vital security interests of the USThe Greenlanders should do a fact finding mission to those three places before deciding.

No mention of bootstraps, or cutting corruption. Compared to western standards much of Greenland is in significant poverty.
AI Overview
"Compared to many Western standards, Greenland faces significant poverty, with high rates of food insecurity, inadequate housing, and lack of basic services in remote areas, despite its resource wealth and substantial Danish aid, creating stark socioeconomic disparities between towns and settlements
. While urban areas like Nuuk have more European living standards, a large portion of the population, especially in small settlements, struggles with food access and essential infrastructure, with poverty rates even exceeding the EU average in some measures.
Denmark provides Greenland with an annual subsidy, often cited around $500 million USD (or DKK 3.9 billion), which is a significant portion of Greenland's budget, covering foreign affairs, defense, and providing welfare benefits like healthcare and education, though Greenland seeks greater economic independence."
